Car Show Possibility?

Hey guys ....... Earlier this year in April, Ben Satcher Ford in Lexington had an all ford car show at their dealership. This event drew in a lot of cars, including numerous cobras so I have been told. I unfortunately was at Fun Ford Weekend in Commerce and not at the show. My idea is to see if our club can mingle wth the guys at Ben Satcher into having another show at the dealership, this time with us as headliners. Can this happen?

I attended that show along with a few other scmc club members.There were over 200 mustangs and fords there.

Was there another car club involved with the show or was it strictly just the dealership doing the show? The dealerships we do shows at are a result of sponsorship agreements that the dealership enters into with the club. As a matter of policy we do not try to sign on dealerships as sponsors if another club already has a relationship with them. Due to the size of the show it sounds like one does. But if not, then Tony would have to say yes or no on pursuing it. If yes then one of the directors would probably have to agree to approach them about it.

We have always needed a show in Columbia, SC but I think there is an MCA club that puts that event on. I think they used to be in Sumter but moved to Columbia. Here is my question to you..

Are you going to help with the show?
Will you help handle promotion?
Are you willing to spend the time and energy to make it successful?

The problem we have is many members want to see shows there but no one wants to help, or they are too busy, or cannot for some reason. I would really like to see one in Columbia happen next year but we can't have everyone from NC to come down there and do it because they have enough to do.

I will support it but not at a dealer that some other club is involved with...so with that, who else has a nice big lot and would be willing to sponsor the event?

Start working on it now for next year. Our Parkway show just brought over 120 cars...we can do it in Columbia, but you all have to help. If you are willing, I am willing! :D

Tony, I would be more than willing to answer the call and get a show for Columbia. It is something that would be great for everyone in that our club gets lots of attention as well as our beloved cobras. There is always someone wanting to know more about our cars. It would be my duty as a owner to share my great experiences with others. I have also contacted Mark about helping with any endeavors I can find.
