A great weekend at Road America. SCMC members Thomas Moran, Lew Groth, Bruce Cameron and Fred Fetzer all trophied :thumbsup: in the Saturday Autocross (no cones, just post your best lap time around the 4 mile road course in four attempts). Thomas Moran had the fastest lap, under 2 minutes, 30 seconds in the Electric Green 99 Cobra from Toronto.
Ford sent a Ford GT to the event. Three of their engineers took turns blasting by the rest of us during the open track sessions. Two privately owned Ford GT's, a 2004 and an original 1967 427 powered car joined in the fun. Roush Performance was there with two cars for developmental testing. The Stage 3 Roush Mustang looked great and sounded even better.
As for me, I enjoyed some spirited battles with other street legal Mustangs in Group 3. Eventually, during the second to last session, I was able to run a sub-3 minute lap; my best at Road America :cool: .
