Hey all.
I need some advise. The follow will be a description of my car’s handling and of my frustration. The questions are...can the handling be fixed? Did Kenny Brown do me wrong? And what should I do know?
This spring I purchased a complete set-up from Kenny Brown for Street/track performance on my 99 Cobra.
I had high hopes for vast improvements but have yet to see them and my frustration level is about 8 out of 10. $1,000's of dollars spent between Kenny Brown parts and paying my mechanic to install the parts - twice!
After the first round of installations the car sat 1.5" higher in the front than the rear. After many calls, to many different people at Kenny Brown's, the final resolution from them was to cut a full coil off the front springs. OK...we did that and now the car sits level but I have to tell everyone, the car pushes like a pig! I’m not an engineer but my theory is that the front springs are stiffer now because of cutting a coil off of them… I have called many times asking for help from Kenny Brown's company and no one has returned my calls to help fix this problem.
I had 2 track days last year (stock) and 3 days this year (Kenny brown suspension) and honestly I don't see much improvement for all the money that was spent. Last year the car was tight in and loose off.
Now the car turns in ok but then pushes bad with no corner speed. The loose off has been helped but with extreme tight (push) handling. I would like the tail to kick out to help get the car to rotate in the corn and keep my speeds up. The car is no faster in the corns than it was last year. It just pushes more now.
At this point I am going to deal with this for three more tracks days later this Month. Next year these crappy springs are coming off and Eibach's are going on. O’ and now the front of the car is bottoming out slightly causing the tires to wear a whole through the fender liner.
We'll I didn’t want to slam Kenny Brown's company but I feel wronged...and I want my car to faster...What to you all think?
Matt
