Tooooo late...
Its never too late to negotiate a large order. He gave us like what - one day's notice that he was running the special. From what I understand the shipping was really killing his profits on the special - so let's see if we can do the following.
First find out how many units are wanted (good time of year with many people getting $$ for Christmas).
Then go to him for a price sans shipping per unit for that quantity.
For the Houston folks - have them all shipped to a single member to save shipping costs and split the shipping up evenly.
For the non-Houston folks (or those who want the unit shipped directly to them) you pay the normal shipping charge.
I see some logistical hurdles:
First - don't post up that you want one if there is a chance you will back out or change your mind. If the count drops after he quotes us a price then the price will likely change.
Second - who will get the shipment. It has to be someone who a) is around and available (counts me out since my work travel gets heavy this time of year) and b) is willing to deal with distributing them (Tuesday meet or Monthly meet would be a good time).
How do we handle payment? My suggestion would be that everyone pays separately - but that means he can't ship the 'Houston' order until everyone in that group pays up.

If you are sure you want one, I will call George on Tuesday to see what he will do. Lets make it simple on him, and have them all shipped at one time to Houston. I do not mind ordering and bringing them in, then being reimbursed when you pick them up . I just want to make sure that I am not stuck with one or maore from someone changing their mind after the order has been placed.
So post up what all you want, ex: Shifter + handle, model numbers would be greatly appreciated

What exactly to do you mean by shifter AND handle. The only shifter I see available on MGW's website comes with the handle: http://mgwltd.com/mustang_shifter.shtml
They also sell a separate handle for other shifter applications.
Or am I missing something?

Even though I'm not in your neck of the woods, I definately want a shifter. I believe they come with the orange handle now. Anyways I need a shifter for a T-56, I won't back out on ya. But if it's going to be to much of a hassle with payment and shipping since I live elsewhere that's not a problem, I understand. I can pick one up some other time.

Talked with George at MGW, he is willing to give a 10% discount for the group purchase. He thinks shipping to one location will save money as well, anyone not close to Houston, would need to pay shipping from Houston (zip code 77069)to you as well as splitting the cost from shipping to Houston.
Cost will be $161.99 plus shipping, if you are in let me know so we can get the ball rolling :bounce: :bounce:

Those of you who are not in Houston, I need a name and address plus determine how you want me to ship it to you. To help determine cost of shipping to you, my zip code is 77069.

I actually changed my fluid first! Put it back together and waited till the shifter came in.... then tore it appart and did the shifter.
On PURPOSE!! I wanted to be able to evaluate the change ...if any.... that the Royal Purple made on it's own.
Factory fill is regular old Mercon(DexronIII)...
I used Royal Purple Syncromax... which is designed for manual transmissions that ONLY run automatic transmission fluids.
The change was quite dramatic!
I had had an issue with the 1-2 shift where second gear would ..... not really grind but kind of go ........... GACK!
That condition was now gone!
Then as you can imagine the difference in the shifter... going from stock to MGW..........was........ :bounce: :p Nothing short of amazing!!!
A little note... leave the fill plug out with a drain pan under it.... so you can hear when it starts running out.
Put the car on 4 jack stands so the front and rear and side to sides are the same height.
I'm thinking the heat from open tracking makes it worth doing. The shift feel improvements are a benefit that streeters will enjoy also.
The combination of the two is profound!!!

The Irony
When I am at the track knowing I am trying to control something that is out of control. Driving down into turn one at 120 mph, hitting the braking zone just in time to cut the apex just right. You would think I would come out of the car shaking like a leaf, but just the opposite happens. I am cool and collected my mind it’s clear and I am focused.
When I am at work knowing I am trying to control something that is out of control.
I give it everything like at the track; I am trying to make things right at work. I am cool and collected my mind it’s clear and I am focused. When people blame there own mistakes and point fingers at others to try and cover up. I come out from this shaking like a leaf.
The irony is, not to become the one thing I hate the most.
Thanks to y'all and your help, I am cool and collected my mind it’s clear and I am focused.

I didn't want to start a new thread with this post, and I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for, so I asked the qestion here.
The question is this. Am I better off installing my shifter with a gasket, like Cobrabob's shifter gasket over on stvp? Or is it better to use the stuff that comes with the shifter? Or are they equal?
Thanks for any answers, in advance

I've seen many people like the gasket from Cobrabob and they claim it makes it even quieter. To me the MGW isn't that loud so I haven't thought of getting a gasket. I'm sure if you have the extra $$$ it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks Casper!
I think I'll just use the RTV sealant then. I want to hurry up and get this thing on here :D

I finally got it installed yesterday around 6:00pm. There really isn't anything I can say about this product that someone else hasn't already. However this truly is a remarkable shifter and you really wouldn't expect it to work as well as it does. Thanks again Larry and Rachael for all your help and thank you George for a great product.

I'd be intersted in getting one for a good price. Possible ship in 1 box & save on shipping?
Ditto cobrapace,I would be interested if the price is right, missed out on the last deal. ;)

Thanks for any answers, in advance :thumbsup:Just wanted to make it clear that although the standard sealer obviously does its job, my gasket set does quiet down the shifter because it provides a better seal between the shifter base and the tranny mounting plate. This superior seal keeps much of the gear noise from being transmitted through the billet shifter into the cabin. It also makes for a cleaner install. I've sold over 3,000 sets and many are for MGW shifters. I've yet to hear that the gasket didn't quiet down a shifter. They really do work. Some do prefer to stick with the sealer at the expense of more noise entering the cabin. So it's an option. IMO a good option. And cheap!
