I have 3.73's and I get anywhere from 24-27 mpg on the highway...as long as I stay off the throttle!

If you want milage. go to 3:55's for S/C applications or 3:73's for a little more help. 4:10's will kill your milage.

Yea they do!!!! On my way right now to pick up some 4:30's for phoenix!

If ya Got the pocket book for the fuel, then go with 4:10's, If your a Broke bum like Most, go with 3:55's.

And when I am just cursing I think it is around 10. Because I idle at 40-psi fuel press and when you get on it shoots up to 80.

Its that damn boost-a-pump. :D

I would agree with Joe (bluethunder) that if you have the money 4:10 are the way to go, and if you don’t then 3:55 aren’t bad either. Good luck.

03-04 Cobras come with 3:55 gears.

oh my God...i feel dumber for trying to read that...thanks aaron.

how do you know what your mpg is when you are in boost? and you only get 10 mpg on a regular basis? your car has major issues. i got 24mpg driving to San Antonio w/ the a/c on and the cruise set at around 80-85mph.

I have 3.73 in my 5.0 (rev limitor a lot lower then the 4.6 mod motor) & I think they are perfect. My mileage did not change at all, except when playing around a lot. Since the supercharge I have picked up a set of 3.55's. If I had a mod motor I would go with 4.10's. That is unless you do a lot of highway driving, then 3.73's.

When I get in the boost a lot I only get 150 miles on a tank.

And when I don’t I get 200 miles on a tank.

Those are the numbers that I get most of the time

I changed my first post if i makes you happy.

ok, 170 miles/tank is about 13-14 mpg. 230 miles/tank is about 18 mpg (roughly).

i would go w/ 3.73 gears...those are a good gear for street use IMO. i like the stock 3.55 gears that i have though

I got 230 when i was braking in the motor with the rpms at 2000-2500 all the time.

Remember he has a non boosted 97 Cobra, not a 03\04.

I have 4.10's in my non-charged '99. I love them and believe it was the best mod I did to my car. However, its not an everyday driver. I get 17mpg in city and 22 on hwy. She buzzes at 2650rpm at 70mph. I would probably go 3.73's for an everyday driver.

BTW, I should clarify that my highway mileage is pretty good because I have a Vortech S/C, which really doesn't add a whole lot of boost at low rpm's. Other S/C's may differ somewhat.

Anyway, good luck and enjoy the new mods!
