Don't know if any of you watched this over the past weekend or know what this auction is all about. There are no reserves on any vehicle auctioned. Bidders are definitely High Rollers. watching the action is really neat, you never know what is next. Last Saturday Edsel Ford and Carroll Shelby showed up with the Shelby GT-500 + matching trailer and a big tool Chest one of 79 and signed of course by Shelby. The wheeeling and dealing on the Shelby GT-500 was going to go to the highest bibber with all proceed's going to the Shelby Childrens fund that he has had in place for years now. When the dust settled The Car went off the floor for $600,000.00.The winning Bidder does not get this Car. Instead he get's to have the car built to his spec's and it will be the first Shelby GT 500 produced this summer. In addition the Red Rocker,Sammy Hagar auctioned off his Shelby original 60'S GT-500 Included in this sale were two cases of CaboWabo in the trunk and an autographed Fender Guitar From the Red Rocker himself. The Shelby went for $550,000.The Auction's are held in West World (Phoenix AZ.) and Palm Beach,FL during Jan. each year. TV coverage in on the Speed Channel. Fun to watch while all other Motorsport is quiet.
