Although it was rather hot today, and with my Stiegemeier stage 4 on the car, the real numbers are 511.9 RWHP and only 467.8 RWTQ

Now Stieg told me there ports do not loose torque, but I had 485 RWTQ before but it was a cooler day, but I was only at 468 RWHP so I sort of traded one for the other I guess, but man, can Sam tune, this thing feels the best it ever ever has,,,,,they say to get my Torque back i have to go with a 2 Lbs lower but I cannot do that without changing pumps,,,,,dang,
How are some of you guys trolling around out there with 525 HP and 525 Lbs/Trq ??,,,,,,,give up thy secrets

I'm assuming that you did the boost bypass mod? Does the car feel slower with the loss of torque? I thought you would have over 500 torque :( . I wonder what your numbers would be with a 8# lower alone with the stock upper. I'm going to get a 2 or 4# lower pulley with my 2.76 and a good tune before I get the port. I want to see what numbers I get with that combo before I get the port done. I know that I will then need the upgraded fuel stuff if I decide to take it to the next step.

now I know im not the best guy to answer this lol so take it with the grain of salt. From what ive been gathering inorder to pick up those big tourqe gains you have to change the lower. Now if you say the pumps have to be changed then ill take your word for it. But I just changed my lower to a 6lb lower and alternator im making 465hp/513tq. I dont know what to do exactly it you postion but I do know after speaking to rob at pro dyno changing to a big lower makes the huge tourqe difference.

check this out, see I used to think torque was as important as HP,,,
but its not, before I got my Stieg 4,
I had 468 HP and 485 lbs/tq,,,,,,,I had power but not that much on the top,
as my tq was higher than the HP well I thought that was all fine and good, but now I have 511.9 HP and only 467 Lbs.tq and my car feels better than it ever has, big time, see now when I get on it the torque gets the car going but then the higher HP takes over rather than falling off below the torque, so the HP takes over and pulls like mad, so I was wrong, HP is more important that torque.

In order to get their full gains, you'll have to swap out to a lower pulley...when you do, you'll probably see 20+rwhp and 20ftlbs...as far as HP > TQ, well it depends on how you look at it...your 4.10's make up for a lot of that TQ loss...in terms of racing, TQ gets you moving, HP keeps you rolling (your headers help out as well)

is the boost bypass mod worth it? does it affect driveability?

A 2.76 UPPER ON A STAGE 4 SHOULD MAKE 520-530HP AND 480-500TQ WITH NICE COOL WEATHER(50*-65*). IF YOU GET A 2LBS LOWER ADD 30-40TQ- IF YOU GO 4LBS 40-60TQ. ALL WITH A 2.76 ON TOP- DONE COMBO'S-COMBO 1- STAGE 4, 2.80 UPPER & 4LBS LOWER 530HP/562TQ- COMBO 2 STAGE 4, 2.75 UPPER & 2LBS LOWER 529HP/535 TQ- COMBO 3 STAGE 4 STOCK UPPER 6LBS LOWER 534HP/515TQ. MOST OF THE CARS MAKE THE SAME OR VERY CLOSE TO THE SAME HP, THE LOWERS GIVE YOU THE TQ. NOW A STAGE 3, WITH 2.76 UPPER NO LOWER MADE 517HP/489TQ, ALL DYNO-JET NUMBERS. JUST SOME CARS WE SEEN, THESE BLOWERS WORK GREAT,

the numbers you put up are about right I guess, we are here in central Florida and it was a good 80 degrees yesterday when I dyno'ed and got
511 HP and 467 TQ,,,,,,,,so if it was 50-60 degrees it would have easly made those numbers dont you think??

Yes, it's amazing what 20* cooler will do for these cars...you also have to remember that normal operating temps are gonna be higher, unless you constantly have ice in the tank...dont be disappointed with your numbers, they are good one's, problem is that every car is different and some get pissed when they are 7hp less than another, believe you me, that 7hp can be made up with a good driver

Every Car Is Different, And With The Heat That Day Down There That's Not Bad! ;)

I always heard HP sales cars and TQ wins races?

Actually I thought it was the other way around :dunno:

It makes sense that HP sells cars and TQ wins races (considering everyone brags about their HP numbers, especially the imports when the reason that we can still walk on em has a lot to do with our TQ production, and thier lack of it, how many times have you heard of guys in imports talking about how they put down ??? amount of HP but they leave out the TQ #'s because its so pitifully low) especially with these heavy ass cobra that we all have. But I will say that someone brought up a good point in that for dave he can have that trade off giving up TQ for HP because of the 4.10s that alone makes up for that small "loss" of TQ and so for him going the way he has makes sense to me because with those numbers and 4.10s im sure getting it to hook from the start isnt much fun. Dave im sure that car does feel good now haha, youve got your bases covered pretty well i think. let us know how you fair against other cars with other combos cause i think you might do better than you think with the way your car is setup now

turns out the first guy that tuned my car was way way off, It would appear that anyone can buy a Dyno and set up shop having no clue actualy how to properly tune,
No when i left this first place that tuned way back before my Stage 4 was installed, I did not nothice any differance from before his tune and my wide band still went all the way down into the low 10.2's like it did before the tune,,,
So then after we put the stage 4 on, and i went to a guy named Sam at a place called "Custom Chassy Dyno" in Tampa, now Sam said the other tune was all wrong,
Sam wrote the tune I have now, but he not only changed the wide open throttle settings he changed the whole drivability tune,,,,,
the moment I left Sam's place it was Holy Sh&% ,,,,,to the max,,,,what a differance all the way around, I now had crisp power and torque, even though my torque before the ported blower was 485 Lbs and after the port 467 Lbs, it feels many times more powerfull
It feels like it gained 100 HP from the way it was running and the reason is the lower throttle positions working so much better at all throttle positions,,,,,
