so, the car is at the dealer cause since the speedo has started it's little thing, the car has felt like it's got the slightest miss at low rpms at part throttle...the dealer is telling me that it needs a new ECM, has anyone ever had anything like this???

no...they've ordered a new one...it's going to come in 3 -4 weeks and it's covered 100%, I'm calling the service manager so he can calrify on how they came to this conclusion...this came completly out of nowhere, I just started it one day and the speedo was going nutsnow I have to send my sct box so they can unlock it so that I can reflash the new computer...I just find it hard to believe they came to the conclusion that it needs a new computer after 3 hours of diag. According to them and all of you on hear, nobodies ever heard of a ECM going on these cars...
I;m confused!!!!!

new update:
the new computer arrived, so we took the car in...they installed it and the car would not start...they removed the computer to find it's got a broken prong...so they went ahead and installed the original computer to find the speedo fixed...after driving about an hour the check engine light came on for the first time since this whole ordeal started...scanned to find codes for both pre cat O2 sensors and a cam posistion fault.
We then reflashed the car and put it on the dyno...numbers were 30 hp down and 20 ft.lbs of torque down. driving the car home the check engine light has not come back on, but it's idling really rough and at feather throttle it's feels and sounds like its missing...the saga continues
