View Full Version : Warning: Check your Motor Mounts.
I had David run down what I thought was a power steering leak. Come to find out it's a bad motor mount that has allowed the engine to rub on and move my engine oil pan. This caused the leak to come from the oil pan, may have rubbed a hole in the oil pan or shifted the pan cause the gaskets to leak.
Add this to your check list when inspecting your car before track events.
:o

That's what I was thinking....
Thanks, you dudes make me laugh :yup: when all seems lost.
I had ordered some solid motor mounts and come to find out they are unfortunately discontinued. I had LRS replace the order with 96-04 Motor Mounts, Urethane PT-6504BL, Fits 96-04 Mustangs and Cobras including the Cobra R.
A high performance engine mount for the 4.6ltr. and 5.4ltr. Mustang. Made of thick gauge zinc plated steel and Prothane's own polyurethane compound. These mounts are more compact than the originals and will hold up to all kinds of horsepower.
Will see, hopefully they will have this one in stock and get then to me before the track event coming up in two weeks. And hopefully the pan can be fixed if it is leaking. If it's the gaskets, hope I can get them in time.
 :( :bawling:

Solids will turn that thing into a track only car faster than you can say "Vibra-Massage"
Are you going to MIG up the pan or get a Canton road race pan???

Checked mine when the MM K-member was installed and they were shot!! No rubber left! Put in new MM urethane mounts.:D
Went over to drop off some engine & tranny fluids and took a look at the Booger.
:bawling:
If I had done another track event things could of turned out bad.
At least for the Cobra and may be even meeeeeee. :(
Y'all would have changed my nick name to, Snot. :dizzy:

I bought the 'vert mounts for my car (stronger than coupe mounts) and they have been great. No problems at all so far.
