I got the 94 back today...initial impression is I don't have one. It was raining and I really couldn't tell what the status was because it isn't fun to drive in the rain and try to accelerate quickly. My check engine light came on as I was drivinghome but this is probably due to the smog stuff taken off. I plan on putting it back on so I kept all of the pieces. The computer was set back to "stock" conditions and there really wasn't any big noticeable difference. The idle was surging but again, the car was not tuned as I told Les not to mess with it. Les feels it is a "lean" code that triggered the "check engine" light.

Here is what I had installed.....

TFS cam with .542 lift
AFR 185 heads with 2.02 intake valves
New transmission shaft gear to correct the speedometer

I think a good tune will solve a lot of the problems if not all of them. Estimated hp will be 300 rwhp and 345 rwtq.
:thumbsup:

Cool on the AFR heads & cam. :thumbsup: The surge is probly from the cam, the 94\95 computer do not like cams, especially ones with a wide lobe seperation. I think you should pick up 30 hp. Good luck on the tune.

Did the AFR 185 heads fit the stock pistons without notching the pistons? I'm assuming with the cam, the pistons had to be notched?

To my knowledge the pistons did not have to be notched. I did have to get different push rods though.

I have the final numbers for tonight and this is with a weak battery. :(

rwhp = 302
rwtq = 333

I'm very happy! :) I picked up 54 rwhp and 30 rwtq with that combination. On some parts of the graph it was more! :thumbsup:

You can definitely tell it is cammed... :rotf: Loud and obnoxious.

I want to thank Dan and Rob of Pro-Dyno and Adam for the diet drink! :D

Check out the graph...at 5352 rpms, I picked up 61 rwhp and 59 ft lbs of torque. This was not peak but close to it. The above numbers are peak hp and tq numbers.
