Well, traction was a key issue! Had to quick shift 1st gear @ 3000 rpm, or she was all over the track. Best time was 12.35@113mph. Not good, not bad. Best 60 foot was 1.88. I know she cold have done alot better than that. The drag radials were not enough, next time I will run ET`s:rolleyes: .

I wasn`t discouraged with the results, I just knew the car could do better. It was there, just couldn`t use it. I will go back and put it down the next time!!!!!!!!!!

Those times aren't too bad bro! My first time at Carolina drag resulted in nothing lower than 1.9s for the 60!! These cobras are a trick to get off of the line! Good luck developing your skills!

Thanks guys! They are tough to learn! I wil learn it though. They are super cool, but Ford made a mistake with the rear end set up unless you are into road racing. I will do whatever it takes, even if I have to put a solid axel under her.;)

Yeah you can do it pal. My first trip to jackson with my old silver cobra netted me a 1.70 60' and 11.70@119 on nitto dr's. It can definitely be done.

yep just takes some practice and getting use to your set up, was in the 1.70's with my nitto dr's at carolina. I know the car has more, best I ran was a 12.17 at 115 and shifting really crappy, need a clutch adjuster.

It took me a while to get into the 12's on a stock Cobra. I am sure you probably know that climate has alot to do with it as well as track temperature. I have seen fast cars get slower due to the ammount of relative humidity in the air. Best I have run yet was 12.597 @ 110mph on street tires. Bogged it out of the hole from a 2500rpm lauch and had no wheel spin anywhere on the track. That entire day I was in the mid to high 12's. Every other time I went to the same track I would be consistent in the high 12's to low 13's. Most of this was during late summer so I am sure that climate conditions as well as track prep had alot to do with it.
