I would really like to get another group get together going before summer has come and past. Once we do the first one, hopefully they will start flowing like water. I would like to attend some car show, big or small I could care less, just so that we all can get together and talk, and grab a bit to eat. I know that there are a few ford shows, or mustang shows up near cleveland. I guess it will come down to where gets the most votes. Like we talked about earlier, we can rotate, that way not everybody has to be driving long distances. And who know, maybe we will be able to pull some out of state members. Just post your toughts!

I agree, would like to get together again with the group. I will check northwestern Ohio for any events. The only one I know about for sure is the Ford Family Fun Weekend at Norwalk on July 7th to 9th. Would love to get an event together for June.

All Mustang Show hosted by BuckeyeStangs ( www.buckeyestangs.com) at Summit Racing. I attended last year....simply a great show and well done. Also, have Summit right there to shop for stuff if you get bored! All Stangs welcome...they are real nice people.
Norwalk - I agree this could be a nice event for us. All day car show on Sat or Sun. with some great drag racing to take in btwn checking out the show 'n shine stuff.
I am up for either!

I take it no one liked my "Cruise-In" idea? I think Krieger Ford is a no go since they already sponsor a car club. :doubt:

No, i think the cruise-in idea is still good. Right now, I really don't care what we do, and long as we do something. I just thought attending a show together would be easy, and little work, and bring the most people.
And speaking of Krieger, I just got a flyer for their show, I believe August 6th. So that is a go for me, but I still would like to do a few things before then
Well, lets try and figure out some dates for the Summit, and Norwalk, and get some lists going to try and pull as many people as possible.

I think you are misunderstanding what I am referring to about Krieger. During our conference call we were going to contact them about doing a show there for our club but since they already sponsor a club, they are a "no go" for us as a club to do our own show there as that would be stepping on someone else's toes. I did e-mail them, I got no response, that pretty much told me they weren't interested.
I have been trying to chat with you on the phone but can never reach you. :(

I'm game like Mike for a get together pretty much anyplace/anytime. The only date I saw mentioned that's a definate NO for me is the week of July 22nd thru Aug 1st as I'll be heading to Georgia for my mom's 70th birthday. Getting together sounds great though, especially now that the weather's nice!
Sorry there Tony, but I'm forgetting what you meant by a "cruise in" idea?

Count me in. Mike, let me know when and where. Norwalk is good. Columbus is never a problem either.

I like the look of the Buckeye Stangs show on 7/29. Single day event, reasonably close for everyone and offers the ability to look over an excellent Speed Shop. We could consider driving in that morning and meeting up outside the show so we can all drive in together and get a group spot at the show. I will still like to meet up sometime in mid June and then perhaps Norwalk.

John, I really like the sound of the buckeye event in July. If you could find more info about that and post it, that would be great. And like most everybody else said, I really hope to have some sort of a meeting in June. And then, like I posted over in the buckeye trip to 411 thread, hoepfully we can get a large group to go south in August for the 411. And then, keeping my fingers crossed :D , it would be great if we could get a few people to commit to head up to Michigan with my in Sept for the national event at Gingerman. It is rather close for us ohio member, and would be great to have a large showing.
Tony, sorry about the lack of comunication, I will try and give you a call tonight!

THe best site to look over the Norwalk event 7/8 and 7/9 is www.funfordevents.com (http://www.funfordevents.com) and look for the details on the Norwalk event. The Norwalk facility is an excellent location and the people treat you well. We could target either the Saturday or Sunday or both for that matter. They have car shows both days although I think SUnday they award more winners. We could meet somewhere and drive in together so that we are all in the same location at the show. Cost is not expensive to enter. The race both days and have alot of vendors and part swap opportunities.
As for the Gingerman weekend, the change to later weekend may have me screwed up as that is the same weekend as the OSU-Penn State game and I may have to have some customers in with me to attend the game Saturday. I am thinking about driving up Sunday morning early to see everyone run their cars.
I am also planning on attending the July 29th event at Summits in Tallmadge, OH. This sounds like a good event.

** There is a McDonalds at Exit 26 off I-76 ( East Market & Mogadore Rds) that we could all meet at. Say around 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and drive over together. I have been to the show the past 2 years and it has been great. The BuckeyeStangs guys are great and it might be a beginning of doing some events jointly?! I like the idea....anyone else?
I plan on being at the McD's at 7:30 on 7/29...anyone who wants to meet up with me and drive over that is my plan. List your name here if you think you are coming to this show. And by all means, make sure you have an SCMC sticker on your window before we go to this show!

Now we are talking Mike. COUNT ME IN!!! I most likey will try to attend both the summit and the norwalk events. I for sure am heading up to gingerman, and if we can round up some people, head south to Tenn, for the august 411 event.
One other thing that I would like to try and set up, is what tony had talked about, a SCMC cruise-in event. I am going to try and talk with a few local resturants (hooters and quaker steak and lube) to see if they would like to host the event. Get a few trophies, and have a sat night drive in show. Give out a few trophies, 50/50 raffle, real simple, and shoot for 20 or so cars. If we can work out a date, we will be able to print out fliers, and hand them out at the events that we participate in in the next 8 or so weeks? How does that sound to ya'll
7/8 or 7/9 Norwalk show
7/29 Summit
8/6 Krieger ford show in columbus( I go every year)
between 8/6 and 8/27 SCMC Buckeye Cruise -In?????
8/27 Buckeye Trip to Tenn
9/22-9/24 Buckeye to To SVT Nationals at Gingerman, Michigan
Sounds like a plan to me!!!:D

OK---that is progress! That is 3 for the Summit Mustang show! Who else?
I believe I can attend Norwalk BUT it will depend on my sons' baseball and Soap Box Derby schedules which I will check out in the next couple days.
I spend a bunch of time in the area of Norwalk Raceway....if I can go I will research a good meeting spot and time and lay that out here within the next week.

Count me in to Summit, will try to get to Norwalk, Krieger in Col, 411 end of Aug. We were at the Quaker Steak, Sheffield, Oh cruise-in last night. Had to be 200 cars, maybe 10 SVT Cobra's. I was there to represent the Mystichrome group.

Still alive and kicking here. Unfortunately, as I stated earlier, I'll be visiting mom in Georgia at the end of July so the event that week is out for me. I'm game for whatever else you guys may be up for, however! :)

As I stated in one of the other posts my summer is pretty full, Gingerman is a no brainer for me and the Aug 411 I think I can make (depending on the budget). The next weekend I don't have plans for right now is the weekend of the Summit show and I'm sure by then I'll need to take a weekend away from cars. I will be at the Grand Am race at Mid Ohio on Saturday June 24 if anyone is interested in that.

Count me in for the Summit show on July 29. As it has been stated, I was there last year and it was a great time!
The Lake Erie Mustang Owners Club is hosting the 2006 FLAGSHIP NATIONAL MUSTANG SHOW on the weekend of Aug 11-13, 2006. This is one of 4 national shows this year and one that is CLOSE! It is at the Millcreek Mall in Erie, PA right off route 79, just north of route 90. I belong to LEMOC and will be there all weekend. You need to get a registration form out of the Mustang Club of America mag. or go to www.lemoc.com (http://www.lemoc.com) for a form. Right now, we have over 150 cars registered and there will be a cap of 350.
I am gone a lot on weekends at events so hope to see everyone at some event and also at our national show.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike R/Mike/Mike M- Sure are alot of Mike's. I have Norwalk (will do Sat July8 or Sun July9, what ever the group decides), Summit ( Sat July 28) and the show in Erie, Pa (Sat Aug 12) marked on the calendar. I'm thinking about the Woodward Dream Mile in Detroit on Aug 19.

Definitely planning to attend the Norwalk event - may put the car in the show one one of the two days - for $30 it gets you better parking closer to strip. Not sure if Saturday or Sunday is better. There is a Burger King located at the just off the intersection of Rt 250 and Rt. 20 across from the Hospital. We could meet there early am on whichever day is best and then the event is located one mile east on Rt. 20.

I'm game for Norwalk, just pick a day (Sat or Sun) and I'll plan on meeting. I've never showed my car ('94) but it might be fun if for no other reason than to secure a better parking spot :baby:

Well, I am pumped and ready to meet up with ya'll again. Norwark is just 2 weekd away, so I though we should make some final decisions. Just wondering what you all think, but I would rather attend on Sat. There is a local SCCA event on sunday in Columbus that I would also like to participate in. I think meeting at the Burger King is a great idea, that way we could park together, and show as a group. I most likely will send this out as an email as well. Hope to hear from you all soon, Mike
