I picked up some new AFR 185 heads # 1492 (pedistal mount rockers so I can use the stock Cobra rockers) from someone who had them in their closet for a year or so for a good price. Now I have to decide if I will rebuild another block (331) I have or just put the heads on now. I've got 130k miles on the Pace car with about 7k supercharged. The Cobra runs good, no smoke or oil useage. I just need more funds to get the stroker kit, machine work, cam & misc parts (windage tray, girdle, 7 qt pan).
The heads look awsome, can't wait to install them, but will probly be this winter... :thumbsup:

I bought mine new and had to send them back about two weeks ago because the valve guides were bad. I hope to have the car back this weekend! I will give AFR credit for their customer service. They took back the heads, repaired them, and shipped them back to me in under 12 business days, and that's from SC to CA and back by UPS ground. They also paid shipping back to me and said they will reimburse me shipping to them. For now, I just want my 94 back! :thumbsup:

Good choice, you'll be happy with those heads. They work well on a 331. If you want more info on my setup, pm me. Good luck!

That bites on the bad valve seats Tony. Hope mine are good, cause I bought them from a individual that bought them new like 2 years ago, so no warrenty for me I'm sure.

Yeah the 5.0 forum is a little slow and do you think we should change the forums to:

93-95 Cobra
96-01 Cobra
03-04 Cobra
07 and Up GT 500

What do you think, rather than 5.0 and 4.6?? Should we make it 96-98 and 99 - 01??

That would cover the Fox-Fox4 93-98, Newedge 99-01, Terminator 03-04 and then 07's.
or
93-98 Push rod and Modular's. The are all Fox chassis.
99-04 Modular's with IRS. They are all Newedge.
