This has been trying to get off the ground for awhile now. Was put to rest, and now is back on the front burner !!!

The 'facts' stated by the history fanatics, are not quite true. Yes, it was a battlefield, but highways and railraods have already been built on it; as was the cotton mill land where the trackis to be built.
couldn't a 'memorial' be built on the track facilities to remember the history that occured here? It is not as if this has been preserved land up to this point.

Even if you are not local, the powers that be will look favorably at the fact the many $$$ will be brought into the local economy by track junkies from all across the continent!!

There have been a ton of letters, myself included, written in recent weeks, ALL in favor of the track. My feeling is that the days of hollow threats from this hairy-legged, self proclaimed, I-still-live-with-my-parents history buff are numbered.

There is a hearing on October 5th, in Spencer, NC about the track. Basically, it is going to be a 're-vote' on the permit and they want to be sure to cover all the bases so this lady can't come back and stir up anything else.

just one person is trying to hold this up??!? Damn.

put a bench under a tree with a marker to say what happened. this whole area has had civil war battles fought on it!

Is the hearing an open or closed meeting?

Picture it as a ragged ol' Pied Piper with about 2 rats following her around and there you have it. She has no legal ground to stand on so it will all be over soon. The residents want it and the town wants it. ALL of the letters sent to the Salisbury Post recently have been in favor of it.
Yes, it is an open meeting from what I understand.
