January SCMC Carolina Meet:
We are talking about having our "Annual Carolina Meet" in the Triad area of NC. Our options are to either go karting or bowling. If we bowl, we will split up into teams of four and use the scores for each team to see who is the best team and who is the worst??
What are your thoughts on this? I'm thinking January 13, 2007 for the meet????

karting is always a good time, but I know there are some that don't get into the karts. I am up for anything.

Let's bowl. I haven't done that in several hundred years! I'll see if I can find my BALLS and my oh so cool shoes and I'll be there! :D ;)

I think Lisa wanted to do the bowling thing but since she doesn't come to the board much anymore..... :rotf:

Mike,
Sounds like you got the gutters covered but you'll have to drill some more holes in her bowling ball so it won't be so heavy for her. We wouldn't want to see the ball drag her down the alley now would we?? :rotf:
I can already tell this is going to be fun and we haven't even gotten started!

:rotf: ok, I will go see if Wal Mart has a Nerf bowling ball:thumbsup:

Bowling sounds good to me. I haven't bowled in years, it will be fun.
Mike,
Are sure you didn't mean a "smurf" bowling ball? :rotf:
Love ya Lisa ;)

you know, they may have one of those at Wal Mart, I will go look today:rotf:

I need a new bowling ball!!! my old one got chewed up in the return:eek::eek:
a blue smurf one would be GREAT!!!! can it be sonic blue? I think a 12lb will still work for me!:thumbsup:
cobrabitn
11-19-2006, 11:17 AM
I got a Sonic Blue bowling ball with swirls in it but it's 17 lbs I think?? The finger holes are probably too big for you so you might do one of those "pull back and the ball goes in the opposite direction of the alley" tosses behind you?? :rotf:
This is going to be a ton of fun! Who's going to bring the laugh-o-meter?? I can already tell I will be crying all night from laughter. :D
Big Daddy
11-19-2006, 12:22 PM
I guess so the heaviest bowling ball the manufacturers make is USUALLY 16lbs so if you have a 17lb ball you are SPECIAL!!  ;) :D
Bowling is always fun, where are the lanes we will be bowling on??
cobrabitn
11-19-2006, 03:32 PM
Hence "17 lbs??" I couldn't remember the exact weight but it's pretty dang heavy for a bowling ball. Mike is going to get the details for the lanes and cost.

ok, for the bowling, we will be at Triad Lanes, 21 Oak Branch Ln. This is a very easy place to find, it is off of Wendover Ave, directly across from Carmax, just a few miles east from I40.
Bowling cost will be:
$8/person for two games, and shoes
$10/person for three games, and shoes
additional games can be done, if you want
we will have a section of the parking lot saved for us, so no worries on door dings:thumbsup:
we will be dining at Ham's Lakeside, 699 East Cone Blvd. This restaurant is several miles away from the bowling alley.
If you don't plan on being at bowling, but want to eat, please let us know!

I won't be coming down for this. The car is in the shop having some preventive maintenance done on it and my ankle is STILL not healed fully and bowlling or any other sport is OUT OF THE QUESTION! Looks like the doc was right when he said 4-6 months before it would be fully healed.
I hope y'all have a great time, I know I'll miss being there.

Greg, if you wanted to know, you should have come without your Cobra!
Basically, Mike Smith, Burke, and I were pretty close. As the games went on, Burke got better breaking the 200 mark twice. I hit the 180's and Mike hit the 170's pretty consistently. Over all, If we took the best three games for the day, Burke would be in first with Mike second and me third. Greg Peppers, Dave Stanfield, David Ridgeway, Bill Dandgerfield, and others fought diligently but they didn't come close to the top three.
The dinner room was great as it had a huge big screen in it and we watched the Indy game while we ate dinner. We basically discussed the Parkway show and what we needed to make it a better more organized event for 2007. While it may have been a hike for you to drive, it was worth it to see everyone having fun at the bowling alley. Everyone agreed that this was better than karting as we got the ladies involved and watching them bowl was a lot of fun.
A huge thanks to Mike and Tina, Bill and Binky for setting this up for us!

Well six hours down and back with a bad foot in my Durango didn't sound like fun. Then when I got down there I couldn't even kick your butts bowling because of the foot.
