Well a buddy of mine sent me a link to this site the other day. It was regarding a track day you guys are having at CMP in March. I would probably attend except I am signed up to do a track event at VIR at the beginning of Feb. and don't need (ie have the money :)) to do another so soon after. I may try and make the one you have planned for June/July though.

Anyway, I will attach some pics of my car below. Hopefully I won't get flamed on this site for not having a "real" Cobra. Unfortunately I can't take credit for building this beautiful machine. I saw it down at Mustang Week last year and it popped up for sale soon there after. Normally I wouldn't have been interested in such a conversion but after seeing in person the quality job that was done on this one I had to go take a second look.

It started out life as a 2001 V6 and he converted anything and everything that needed to be changed to make it a "Cobra." The only things that will tell you differently are the VIN plate and the 1/4 windows (they are out of a Mach I, a little more squared off). That is a very subtle touch that I didn't even notice until he pointed out. Then he sprayed it 1993 Cobra Teal as kinda of a 10th anniversary tribute car.

I had a Lightning that I sold to get this car. And while I do miss the L at times this car is just too awesome! I am probably going to be selling my Notchback just b/c the Cobra is nearly as fast with potential to be faster on the stock bottom end and handles better, is more civil, etc etc. I can take credit for building and painting the Notchback though. :)

Hope you enjoy the pics and I'll see you around on the forums, Ryan

Not fully sanded/buffed in these pics but mostly done. I just finished painting a month or so ago (not much time to work on sanding/buffing/re-assembly):

Welcome to the boards! I would have to say just by looking at the pictures that is a very sweet looking conversion. How far did the builder go with it in regards to the rear end, SLA or IRS? Either way, it is a nice job and a good find.

Everything is just as you would find it on a Cobra. IRS in it from a Cobra, interior out of another wrecked Cobra that had 800 miles on it. Engine and trans had 40K miles on them. The original V6 body had something like 42K miles but pretty much everything that was ever on that car has been replaced at this point.

The body was completely disassembled for paint (ie doors off, all panels sprayed front and most of back, over spray underneath just like from factory, inside truck is sprayed, engine bay is sprayed, etc). The only thing not sprayed is under the carpet inside b/c he didnt want to spary on top of the sound deadener and he didnt want to pull it up.

And thanks for the comments. -Ryan

You won't get flamed here. S.C.M.C. operate under a different policy and people are treated with respect here. Great looking cars and welcome to the forums.
I hope you enjoy your stay.

That notch back is nice too. I have a friend who is a notch back fan and owns one of his own. His 89LX is very much in original condition and well kept, still looks like new but has 60k+ miles on it.

As for the Teal Cobra, that is one of the first complete rebuilds I have seen.
After looking at your pictures and what you pointed out about the rear quarter windows you had me looking at my car just to see the difference.

Yeah I love Notchbacks. Those and '93 Cobras are the only Foxes I think I will ever own. One of the best looking mustangs ever in complete stock form. They are getting harder and harder to find in good condition.

Yeah, the 1/4 windows are a real subtle difference.
