Hey everyone, we need to get some TN cruises put together. We have so much beautiful scenery around here and a lot of Ford dealerships, I know any of them would hold another one for us. Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

well lets start getting one together. lets get the wheels in motion. I'll check with some local dealerships and see if they would host a get together for us to meet one Saturday and we all could go from there on a cruise or do the cruise on sunday, how ever you guys would like. Keep the suggestions coming.

Or- dont' really need a dealership to meet at. A hotel or restaurant works well!

are there any Sonics in your area?? They are the best for cruise ins, they give that feel of the 50-60's. Like Lisa said, any nice restaurant will do. Find one with a good size parking lot, so everyone can park together:thumbsup:

^^^Come on Mike, I know you want to drive that bad boy some more. When we had the Roush show at Lance Cunningham Ford all of the Roush owners met at Paleaos Grill on Merchants Drive and it has a fairly large parking area. Everyone had plenty of room. There were around 15 Roushes that met there. The food is wonderful. They serve Italion food, Hamburgers,Seafood, Its really a nice place to eat, plus its not very expensive. Estimating their were 2 too every car so 30 people had the whole left side of the restaurant and they move the tables together so everyone can eat together. If we decide thats not what everyone wants then there is a Sonic Drive in next door. After we eat we can drive on up to Cumberland Gap. BEAUTIFUL scenery, If you have a vert I recommend you use it with the top DOWN. After enjoying the scenic route to Cumberland Gap you have to enter a tunnel thats about a mile or a little over a mile long going underneath a mountain to get to the overlook which to get to its like a mini Dragon but once you reach the top its beautiful. You can see 3 states from up there. Virginia,Tennessee,Kentucky. And actually stand on the Virginia and Kentucky state line. Does this sound like something everyone would like to do? I will look for some pics of the gap and post them.
Found some pics when we went up with Kitty and Adam. Some friends of ours.

I know a great scenic route coming from Knoxville (exiting off I-40) going through grainger co. up into claiborne co. and into KY. It would be a great way for me to meet up with you all. That way I will not have to run back and fourth from k-town and make unnecessary driving. It may not be the fastest way through. But it is a simple point and shoot drive. It consists of a 4 lane, going in a 2 lane and back into a 4 lane. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I would like to drive down there and get in on that cruise to Cumberland Gap. I could meet you all in Knoxville and then cruise home from the Gap. I visited that park when I was a kid and then a couple of years ago we went back. It is a neat place! Steve and Crystal, I will talk to you about it this weekend at the MCA National show in Louisville.

I thought we all could meet at Paleos Grill on Merchants Drive around 12 noon to grab some lunch and go from there to the Gap. It takes about an hour to go from Merchants Drive to the Gap. On the way there are several gas stations and rest spots to pull over too. How early does everyone want to meet? Is noon good for everyone or earlier? And is Paleos good for everyone? They serve Italian,Seafood,American dishes, Its really a good place to eat.Its similar to the Texas Roadhouse we ate after the Ted Russell show. If anyone has any more ideas please dont hold them back, Lets make this happen. My cell# is 865-919-2150. Give me a call if you want. Im on the road a lot now days.

what's the address to that restaurant??

07-01-2007, 12:39 PM
Puleo's Grill address is 110 Cedar Ln. Knoxville TN 37912. Should I make reservations for noon? Is this a good time for all? I have checked the weather and by doing so I hope I havent jinxed it but Saturday there is only 10% chance of rain and when they say that its pretty much not going to. Let the Fireworks begin. :raise: :tomcat:

Donny as of today I am still planning on coming out there. I will probably have to leave the house at 730am to meet y'all at noon in Knoxville. If something comes up and I can't make it I will for sure give you a call so nobody is waiting on me. Mike B are you planning on going?.....or anyone else in NC or SC for that matter? We could meet on I40 somewhere between Hickory and Asheville. Post up if anyone else plans on attending.

You guys really needed to go back to post number 23 in this thread so you could see why members were unsure if this was a go or not? This would have been very helpful not to mention I could have sent this info out to the club so the cruise would have had the opportunity to be a bigger turnout.
I've requested this information so that we don't have members wondering if this event was a go or not. I'm not trying to make anyone mad but I have to agree with NCkissfan and Vortex03. I hope this won't dissuade them from doing the Dragon in the Fall!

Tony, Im sure if there is going to be a next time I would be sure to wipe there noses and something else. This was a first for all, If someone was unsure of the cruise there was a phone number added. Im not to good to call anyone and neither is anyone else on this board. Some folks feel as if there advice was not taken (route) and got angry. 6 cars were there today, Everyone felt as if they were not mislead and the cruise continued. Everyone had a great time too. As for the dragon, No we wont be there nor probly the Ted Russell show and Charlotte. There was a meeting point,TIME, and once everyone arrives then we discuss the scenic route. Very simple. Theres NO show nor trophies. Its a simple cruise to and fro. Sorry for venting but thats how I feel.
BTW, #26 post was what we were waiting for and for some reason nothing ever panned out Hmmm. That was mentioned today. So we continued onward Captain!

Like I said Donny, I didn't want anyone angry about it and you shouldn't be either. Everything is a learning process and it takes a lot for someone to jump in there and organize an event. I do appreciate you putting this together and I'm sure all of you had a great time and that's what it is all about.
I guess through my experience it's just easier if you have all of the information there all in one place. Again, you took a big step and while other's talk about putting on events, you actually put one on and for that I am grateful. It would have been great to have 20 cars come out to the cruise, don't you think?
P.S. I liked it better when you had the flashing blue lights in your avatar! ;)

I am not upset with anyone. My days off come very limited, so I like to get them squared away with what I am doing. I was waiting for the meet time, location, etc to be posted up so I could confirm it was happening. I don't like to use the phone, hell I barely call my parents. That's just who I am. I am not blaming anyone, or need my noses wiped, just think posting the info a lot sooner would have helped some of us. Hopefully, you can do something again soon, and we can cruise up your way:thumbsup:
I, too, am amazed that Greg wondered out. I thought maybe the Cobra was under the weather, and he was just hiding the fact from us:rotf:

Just a little shake down cruise after having some work done on the beasty. Needed to make sure the computer chip was working and I had to have them turn off the emission so I could pass my inspection. So all is good and we are ready to go to Myrtle at the end of the month.

Yeah that was my son Kent in my 96 Laser Red Vert. I was the outsider driving the Mach 1 for this event! Sorry about the late reply... I have been very busy this summer working a second job to try to make some extra money so that I can keep both the Cobra and the Mach!
