I am looking to everyones experience on my 2001 Mustang GT, OK it's not a SVT but I try to drive it like it is. Under normal driving the breaks work great, but when I hit a few quick on and off ramps after about the third hard breaking I start to feel a shimy in the breaks. After the breaks cool down the shimy goes away. The breaks are stock with stock ceramic pads. I have heard this may be hot spots or the rotors warping with heat. Should I have the rotors turned? I would like to be able to take the car to HPT to run some open track this summer but need to find out the cause of this first.

Owning both a GT and a Cobra with stock brakes, I have not experienced the problem you describe. The GT is rarely driven hard, but the brakes held up well on the Dragon Run. The Cobra is driven almost exclusively at open track events. Both cars use carbon/metallic brake pads. I have not tried ceramic brake pads and wonder if they are the source of your problem. Since brake pads are relatively cheap, swap them and see if the problem goes away.
