Another Good News, Bad News story.

The good news is that my credit card has been max'd out on car part orders.

The bad news is that I didn't make any of the purchases.

Credit Card company called and wanted to verify the multitude of thousand dollar plus internet/phone order charges over the past 24 hours. The scary part of the story is that I recognized many of the merchants charged as on-line aftermarket part vendors. (None of them SCMC sponsors).

I think my wife still isn't convinced that I didn't make all those orders :D

Sorry to hear that Jeff! That would really piss me off but the good thing is you are not liable for any charges except $50.00 I think. Time to change that number... I'm sure the CC company will trace the address of which the parts will be going to and catch the thiefs!

Has something similar happen to me.... I basically got ripped off since the credit card company lost the initial paper work and I had to refile it twice. I still wound up paying off the $3000.00 illicit dept that was placed on my credit card. After the credit card finnished the investigation they reinbursed me for the extended credit and finance charges which did not cover the full expense. Also they jacked up the interest rate to 29% on the remaining ballance. That card does not get used anymore.

Everything worked out fine. It did however take MC 3 weeks to get us new cards
