Ok, I am trying to find out why there is a difference in my times and what may be causing them. I know I have some more in her to run faster but was afraid to push it to hard and break something. What do I need to do to fix the problem other than drag radials. If you look at my sig it has all I have done and the power I am making. Both of my runs were on street tires with no burnout just a quick spin to clean them off is all. I launched pretty easy because I knew that if I didn't I wheel hop bad. My first run this is what I had:
R/T.... .578
60..... 2.155
330...5.70
1/8... 8.51
mph..89.3
1000..10.8
1/4...12.76
MPH..111
My second run was:
R/T.... .308
60..... 2.071
330...5.59
1/8... 8.39
mph.. 87.19
1000..10.74
1/4...12.77
MPH..112
Why is everything better up to the 1/8, I ran quicker but my MPH was down and then the total oposite for the 1/4 times? ran slower times but ran faster MPH. Is it my shifting or what?
Thanks for any advice, Chris
I'd figure you'd be in the low 12s..hrmm..What are you shifting at?

I can get in the low 12's easily with dr's probably. I couldn't get it to launch without spinning them or wheel hopping or both, so I had to let out both times. I was shifting around 6,000 I believe, wasn't watching the tach as my eye was on the A/F gauge. I shifted when my ear told me to shift, I know that sounds weird but I am new to a manual on a track so keeping an eye on all the stuff can be very difficult at times.

Just looking at it, I would say you were spinning more in one run and less in the other.
Here's how you can get in the low 12's/high 11's.
1. Get Drag Radials and set to 16 - 18 lbs of pressure
2. Get some air bags for the rear springs to help eliminate hop if not get rid of it.
3. Your 60 ft time is 2.0 plus. For every tenth you knock off of that, you will gain two tenths at the end. Drag radials will probably get you in the 1.8 60 foot times which will knock off 5-6 tenths in the quarter. As it looks right now, you will be running 12.1 to 12.2 with air bags and drag radials. Get a better launch and you will be in the 11's.

I have a set of drag radials 18X10 BFGs on a set of Steeda mags for sale. They have only been down the track 3-4 times. Call me if you are interested.

your 60ft was quicker in the second run that's why your 1/8th is quicker however you must have slow shifted down track to loose it in the 1/4

Thanks, Mike. I am going to try and get some D/R's and air bags before I go again and see what that does.

don't waste your money on bags. just buy a good set of d.r. like some et streets or nitto 555rs.i put a set of mickey thompson et streets on my car and chris at boosted went 11.72 @ 121 mph. his 60' time was 1.64. his 1/8 mile time was 7.5 @98 mph. i can't drive and ran a 12.00 @116 mph in the 1/4 and 7.7 @ 94 mph in the 1/8. still with the stock blower and no gas....but be careful launching it as i broke one of my half shafts today at mooresville.

like said before, SKIP the air bags! put some nitto drags (@ around 18psi) on there and get them 60's down.. i was cuttin give or take mid 1.7's w/ my irs and not even launchin hard!! all i had was bf brace, MM brackets, MM coilovers on 275 40 nittos.. you will drop over half a second w/ the numbers ur car puts down once u get it to hook guaranteed if not more!

I was thinking it was the shifter until I read your mods in your signature.
I have barely any mods done to mine, and run the same numbers on average. Street tires will slow you down some (tire spin). What I found best with the street tires is to leave the air pressure alone and only do a clean up burnout (short spin). With street tires try to stage a bit offset to the groove (slightly better traction due to the different rubber on the track in the grove).
Best to get DR's for improved ET.
