man I love those rims.....how close are we Mike?????

Has the car ever been in a wreck? It is odd that the 03 has the 01 taillights with the amber turn signals?

Good Luck Mike, I thought you were going for another convertible - did you change your mind?

Ok....the deal is done. It is mine!
Got a great price too for all this car has done and its history is pretty special.

Your questions answered...

Cobra has clean carfax and the tailights were exchanged per the owners preference. I hope I like them as much but can always change back.

Yes, I did change my mind on a convertible vs. a coupe. I intend as always to participate in cruises, car shows, and club events. However, I do want to take part in at least 2 driving events per season and this gets it done the easiest way possible. Also, my daughter does not like to ride in a vert due to her hair getting messed up or the temp too hot/cold - she's 14! I like to ride w/ the family once in a while. Finally, the price of a coupe tends to be a bit cheaper and I took advantage of that also.

Now I have to pay for the thing!

I will post up more pics and details when I get it home.

Congrats Mike, she looks great. I only met you once but clearly remember your spoken desire for a Terminator. I'm also in the hunt for a replacement "toy", it may take awhile but like you I'm gonna wait for the right car and right deal......Mark.

SWEET!!!!!! I can't wait to see it.....and if you still need to use my house as a meeting place, I am all for it!

That is what I was thinking about the tail lights, as I wanted to do that with my 03 when the 01 was wrecked, but one of the lights was cracked.

Can't wait to see it!.......TRACK DAYS HERE WE COME!

Congratulations Mike, the car looks great and I like that color alot! Agree the hardtop makes it easier to attend driving events and even the drag strip. I am still struggling on what I am going to do! Still tough for me to give up a convertible on a nice sunny day I looked at a 07 GT500 hardtop Saturday with 6500 miles on it for $42,000 with pulley upgrade and new exhaust system. The guy would take my car and difference. Wants to stop his payments. Not sure if I want to go that route.

BigJohn...I am very good at spending other people's $$ and I think you should do that without hesitation. 42k is quite reasonable w/ 6500 miles if you like the color. Plus, this is a great time of year - buyers market vs. Spring when sellers will have the upper hand. You may be able to buy it a bit lower (40k).

I hear you on the convertible attributes...I agree. Nothing like a vert on a sunny, summer day BUT I have arrived at the conclusion that we live in the northern half of the country so those days are relatively few. Driving with all the windows down on a nice summer day will be pretty nice too. I also love track events even though they are few. Plus, a change after a number of years with the same car can rekindle your excitement about owning a Stang/Cobra.

Good luck with your decision and have a great holiday!

Stay in touch and keep us all posted.

I am not sure how I feel, but I sold my Cobra yesterday to a guy from Iowa. He paid my asking price and is having it transported to him next week. Funny, how this car game goes, if you find the exact guy who wants your exact car the deal comes pretty easy. He wanted a yellow 03' convertible with modifications and my car fit the bill.

Now the look begins for a new ride - I am going to take a little time and decide just what I want and then begin the search. Convertible, Coupe, old, new, for autocross or drag use? Not sure yet?

LumpyDogs - Thank you. Road Course events here I come!

COBRA4ME - thanks...love your rims too. They set off the Comp Orange color real nicely.

Thanks Grandpa...your investments are now gone and part of my new ride!
(you can reach me in jail beginning next week)

Big John...congratulations to you! Take your time and the "right one" will appear before your eyes when you do not expect it and before you know it! Always sad to see you long-loved Cobra drive away but be very excited about the prospects of shopping for a new hot rod. Keep us posted!

Yes!

Picked it up yesterday and got it back home in my garage before all this bad weather hits today.

I love this Cobra! Just an absolute hoot to drive and I love the coupe!

I have to clean it up today and put her to bed for a bit as the roads are just salt, ice, and stone filled right now. I was happy the roads were clear and dry yesterday driving it home.

You are welcome to come by today if you want...I will be home btwn 11 am and 5pm then have some errands to run. Call my cell and let me know. The Browns are on from 1 to 4 if you want to catch some of that.

The Terminator hunt is complete!

Mike,
Congrats on the new addition to the family. Let me know if you are around later this week and available for me to stop by for a visit. Mike and I couldn't stop talking about this upcoming car season. Apparently I have to modify my rather slow Cobra to get in your league. Pulley mod and tune in April is on the menu.
Talk to you soon, Mark
