Hi SCMC members!,
My name is Bill Drzal. My wife Emmy Lou and I are the IL State Event Coordinators for the SVT Cobra Mustang Club (SCMC). I hope your summer is going well and your Cobra is all shined up. I apologized for not writing you sooner. Things are a little bit busy around the household with the oldest daughter getting married this year and the youngest daughter moving to Wisconsin to teach. Based upon the response of the group to my earlier e-mail about what the group would like to do this year, below are the events we will be doing.
SCMC and SVTOA will be co-hosting a car show / cruise at Packey Webb Ford in Wheaton on August 9th. I will sent a separate e-mail with the flyer for the show. This is a very low key event and Packey Webb Ford provides lunch. Our own Richard Lotesta, who is a driving instructor for SVTOA and other groups, will be contacting a "class" after lunch which will be a discussion of what you need to know before you take your Cobra to a track event such as Gingerman. He will also discuss how to "drive" the Gingerman track. If you have ever thought about taking your Cobra to a track event, but were concerned that you did not know what to expect, you need to come to this show!
We also will be attending the SCMC event in South Haven, MI the weekend of September 20th-21st. This is a car show and a track event. This is the first track event I ever participated in and got hooked. Learn to drive your Cobra the way it was meant to be driven! You learn the course with instructors in your own Cobra. I will be driving up on Saturday morning for the show since my convertible just not have a roll-bar. See the SCMC club Web site for more details.
