I'm a new owner of an 01 snake and at the time of purchase it seemed to have water marks on it where it hadn't been wiped off after it was washed. After I washed it the first time and wiped it off they didn't come off. My question is is this a protective coating from the dealer that has been damaged or can I polish this out. I don't want to do anything untill I get some input. The car is black.
Also where can I get a book on serial numbers and my production number.

Polishing will not take it out, you will need to compound it (I use poorboys SSR2.5 and SSR1 but your choice of product is up to you) with a machine such as a porter cable to get them out. If they are really bad I would go a little rougher compound such as SSR3. Then follow it up will some polish, sealant, and then some wax. Hope this helped some, if you need more info PM me and I will try and help. Oh, and if the surface is rough after you wash it I would clay it before you compound it to pull the dirt and metal out of the clearcoat.
