View Full Version : 2010 SCMC Calendar

It's time to start preparing for the 2010 SCMC calendar. We would like to get the calendar out earlier this year so we will need to start getting your submissions now.

Primary Guidelines for the SCMC Calendar:

You must be a SCMC member in good standing, membership dues must be paid up at least through the end of 2009 to have your picture included.
Must have the SCMC decal or side window decals showing in the photo.
Try to find an interesting location that provides a good background for the shot. Avoid common shots like driveways, parking lots, or shots with distracting clutter in the background or people standing around.
Pictures need to be high resolution shots, Preferably using a digital camera with 5 megapixels or more resolution. Lower resolution pictures may be posted for consideration but if asked to submit a final photo we will need the full size high resolution image. If you have a Nikon DSLR, I would prefer pictures submitted in Nikon's NEF RAW format. Otherwise please submit them in high resolution jpg format.
First preference will be given to member submissions that meet the requirements and that have not had their Cobra in a prior SCMC calendar. Submissions from members in the 2008 will also be considered (must be a different picture), but not the 2009 calendar.
This is not a requirement, but it would be nice to have some pictures depicting seasons other than spring and summer. We have been lacking in fall shots and a winter shot (with snow) would be really unique and great to have. Be creative and have fun when taking pictures!

Please post submissions or questions directly related to the 2010 calendar in this thread. General questions about taking pictures for submission should be posted here: What Makes a Good Calendar Picture? (http://www.svtcobraclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16120)

If you would like to help with the calendar process, please email or PM me directly.

So, how much does all that cost? I just joined like 2 days ago and have been posting here and there for a while.

I'm not sure what you mean by cost. The only cost to you would be the cost of membership to join the SCMC ($20/year with a $5 discount per year for a multiyear membership) and the cost of buying one (or more) calendars.

You can join online in the store by clicking here (http://www.scmcstore.com/store/product.php?productid=1&cat=1&page=1) (if you haven't already joined)
Note: You will have to setup a separate user name and password for the store.

Those links still don't appear to be working or the pictures have been removed. It's best if you copy the image code link or image thumbnail code link supplied by photobucket for the picture and then post that in the message.

I cant get any of the photo bucket links to work that I post. I can e-mail them to you or you can go to photobucket.com and search for *****nbronco. If you see one you like there and wand a higher res pic, let me know and i will send you an e-mail with it

Not sure what is going on. I either get a message from photobucket that the picture has been removed, or I get an error message from photobucket saying that the search failed. Just a guess, but it may not like the ***** in the name. :dunno:

Also, try to take pics with the SCMC decal in the front window and also submit some photos of you personally in some of the car photos.

Mike,

We base the calendar on variety of color, year, and type. Since you have a unique color, we may just keep it in there to make the calendar more interesting. I like the shot with the old building in the background, it's a great shot.

Post Office, priority mail..

You should contact your post office first before we do anything since they have the tendency to want things signed for and if you are not there, they will hold it at the office. I have had this happen to me a lot, just ask Bart Pfeffer from TX about his membership packet that had to be remailed to him.

Mike R-I know you're jealous of my multiple colors. Also, I took 3 pictures in this years calendar.

You are the Photo Man! Yes...I do love the colors (and pulling your chain once in a while)

Happy New Year!

Tony,

Received them today ... Saturday the 2nd ... the post office must take a strange turn prior to coming to the Raleigh/Durham area.

As I said Mike, they were all mailed the same day, if you like I can scan a copy of the receipt showing the date and time? I don't know why it would take so long from Charlotte NC to Raleigh NC, an hour and a half away but I cannot control it once they are out of my hands. Just glad you got them, thanks.

Tony ... wasn't upset ... don't need to know when you mailed them ... just thought it was funny that mailing from SC to NC took almost a week when they got to Ohio in 2 days. I have always thought NC was a little slow.

I didn't notice it myself, but I was told that December is printed as 2009 instead of 2010. Okay ... who edits this stuff before printing?

It shows 2008, what a goof. I'll have to see if they will reprint December and mail them out to whoever bought one. Thanks for the heads up, yes I edit them but like you, I guess it got by me.

Yes, Ted, I can bring yours with me. Looks like we will have a Roush Museum tour set up for the weekend but I'll have more details tomorrow.

I've had the current supply corrected but I cannot do anything about the ones that were sent out so I will be mailing out a $5.00 coupon along with "2010" decals for the December page to those of you that have already received your calendars. Please accept my apologies.

Mike, since your car is the December car, I will be mailing out two new calendars to you, thanks.

That's still too long, they were mailed on Friday so you should have gotten them on Saturday not Monday.

I have a feeling that the Apex post office has a little trouble keeping up some times. They return mail to me that has been going to customers for years. If it only took 2 days this time that beats the 5 days it too last time. :thumbsup:That's still too long, they were mailed on Friday so you should have gotten them on Saturday not Monday.

Tony,

Just send me the 2010 label for the calendars, but instead of sending me 5-$5 coupons turn that $25 into a charitable contibution on behalf of the club.

Don't bother sending me any. If I haven't figured out it's 2010 by December then I've got bigger problems. Save the $15 to hire a better proof reader :D

Thanks Tony. Since I give several of the calendars to customers it will be nice to give them the correct date. As I indicated earlier, please don't send the coupons. Use those for other worthy club needs.

You should have it by tomorrow, I have to get the other's out, too. They have been working me 50 hours a week and I'm still dealing with a death in the family and the after stuff.

Thanks for being patient! ;)

You won't need them, these are the updated calendars with the correct year on them for December.
