While I know we are late in knowing this, anyone who knew Vance knew he was a great guy. I know he loved this club or otherwise they wouldn't have mentioned it in the obituaries. He came to our drag days, autofair, and meets and was a very pleasant member to know. He was quiet but helpful and always offered a helping hand without any expectations for something in return. He was a Cobra Club brother, one who worked hard at his job but still came to see everyone even though he pulled an all nighter.

What can I say? I am in total shock!!! He was young to be taken away from this world and didn't get a chance to live a long life. He will be missed and did I mention that I am still in shock??? Sometimes you never know what the future holds for you so live your life to the fullest and be glad that you have another day to enjoy what God has provided for you.

I know that Vance is in a better place than this earth but I will still miss him. I just can't believe that he is gone and I give my condolences to his family and friends. He was a true SCMC member, one that loved his Cobras and his fellow SCMC friends.

God Bless You Vance, I hope you will take the time to look down on us from heaven and smile and know we will be thinking about you and we will miss you.

Please mention the club when you sign so his family and friends know we cared about our Cobra Club brother, thanks.

Also, please post something here so others will know how much we cared about him.

Thanks for your time!

I've never met Vince, but what a shame. Especially at such a young age.

I'm sure he will be missed.

I to never met Vance, but really wish I had. He sounds like a good person who would help someone in need. It's a sad day when you see someone so young get taken away from their life on earth. Keep Vance in your thoughts and prayers. Spend time with the ones you love and enjoy life that much more.

May he rest in peace for eternity with the Lord

May the Lord look after and comfort his family, for their loss, as there is no greater pain for a parent then to loose a child.

May his soul and all the souls of our faithfully departed rest in peace.

Amen

Crystal & I pray that God comforts his family and friends in this difficult time for them. I hate to see any one (not suffering) leave this earth before living a long, fruitful life, but would not bring him back from Heaven even if I could. It is tough for us, but he now lives in a place so glorious we cannot even begin to imagine.

What a eye-opening reminder that all of us live numbered days, only God knows that number! I pray that none of us waste a single minute of that precious time.

I never knew him personally, but I (like the rest of us in this club) feel the loss and my heart and prayers go out to his family. Life is a very precious thing and I think sometimes we all get so caught up in trials and tribulations and forget what is really important - family!

Rest in Peace Vance!

Vance was a true reflection of why this club was started in the first place. I know he really loved this organization by the way he talked about it to others. Today the SCMC received a check from the Polk County Finance for $60.00 as was designated by his family to the club. In return, I think we need to do something special with the contribution to let his family and friends know how much we really miss and care about him.

Your thoughts and ideas would be helpful, thanks.

P.S. Derek, that is an awesome photo of Vance, where did you get that photo? Also, I'm going to dig back through our club photos and see if we can host some of him up on the website.

Tony I got the pic off of Myspace. Several people on there have it posted. It was also in the tryon bulletin. Here is a link to the article in the bulletin.
tryondailybulletin.com - Polk man dies at motorcycle race track (http://tryondailybulletin.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1705&Itemid=192)
After the funeral a bunch of bikers burnt out in front of the church. There is a video of it here.

I know the cops didnt like it much. But I'm sure Vance was looking down at it with a big smile on his face. He loved his motorcycles and Cobras. He had just bought a new white with blue stripes 2009 GT 500.

If anyone has photos of Vance, please send them to me so we can do a slideshow on the front page. I have some photos that are in there but we want to get as many as possible. Thanks to Edmond for putting this together for us. Check the front page more often for updates that are not mentioned in the forums.

Hey guys what going on? I do not own a Cobra but I was very good friends with Vance and I even came to some of ya'lls club meets with him back when he had the green 97 Cobra and white 03. He did love his SVT's no doubt about it. He will be truely missed by many. I saw that ya'll were having a dyno day on Feb 28th, which was Vance's birthday, I am going to try and make it to that event. I own a 03 Mach 1 which I guess is the Cobra's first cousin. We had some stickers made in honor of Vance that are small and very tasteful. If anyone would like to have one let me know and I will do my best to get ahold of some and bring them to the dyno day. I look forward to seeing you guys again.Big Daddy: Greg is that you? You use to cruise Asheville with us didn't you?
