On my 01. The two coils closest to the firewall. Both were shorting out, not working. I replaced them on a sunday last year only a few months ago as they were of course a problem on a sunday. Yesterday I replaced one of the replacements with a new ford coil. Water is dripping onto the engine from the firewall near the clutch cable adjuster. Both sides seem to be getting this water treatment. When I opened the hood water seems to be travelling from the heat vent towards the windshield too. There are some who have said there is a ford fix for this but I am not finding it for some reason. Any ideas?

When I opened the hood water seems to be travelling from the heat vent towards the windshield too. Where is the water originating? Is this during rain or are you getting water all the time from somewhere else? Or when you wash it? The "heat vent" in the 99/01 hoods is non-functional from the factory.

This situation only happens when it rains.

What's the condition of the gasket on the rear of the engine bay, on the cowl panel? The one that seals the back of the hood.

The seal seems to be in good shape.

If anyone wants to know...there is some weather strip on the back of the cowl and on my car the strip was pinched at the bottom and a screw was missing too.
