Thank you for letting me post. It is appreciated.

The Dark Side is holding it's next Driver Ed on May 2-3 at Roebling Road Raceway. We run it PCA-style - meaning 5 run groups, from novice to instructor and everything in between.

Friday is a track hosted lapping day - for those with lots of seat time and that have been solo for one full weekend with a well-respected DE group (i.e. BMW, Triangle Z, Chin, PCA, etc.) Cost: $150 pre-registered/$175 at track.
We do tech that afternoon at the track and at the hotel that evening at our host hotel, The Hawthorn Suites (near the Savannah/HHI Int'l Airport) during check in and hospitality.

Driver Ed: Members $225 / Non-Members $250 for Sat & Sun
Saturday is a full day at the track. We do have visitors arriving - The Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head. They will be receiving a special talk from Officer Jim (founder of Cops Against Illegal Racing), lunch and a family parade - that we hope our participants will participate in. That night, for $10 a person, we offer the sweet sounds of Annie Allman and a wonderful BBQ.

Sunday is more track time - and we want everyone to head home in the same condition (or happier) they came in with just a few more miles put on their cars.

More information is available at our website www.darksidede.com or feel free to send me a message.

Thank you - and hope to see you one day at the track.

Jackie,

Good to see you on here.

For everyone else,

Several of us are going down from the Charlotte area on Thursday night to be there for lapping on Friday. Several more are going down Friday night for Sat-Sun. If anyone wants to caravan with us, send me a PM.

Jackie,

Thank you Kevin. I was checking over the roster, and where I normally have lots of Mustangs - I only saw yours. It's a scary thought. Our buddies from RPM all have full agendas. Two of DS favorites moved to the midwest. One had his house burn down. Another, who is always with us, has to be in Australia on business.

What you may not know is the kids LOVE MUSTANGS. No, I really mean LOVE EM -- they will walk by a Ferrari or a Porsche -- just to peek inside a Roush 327. It's a wonderful sight - and I don't want them being disappointed come Parade time...

One day Kevin - please tell me what your nick stands for. Everytime I look at it - I see Bronx or Brooklyn... LOL and we only had streets in NY...no trx (unless you count the Sprain Parkway when it was being built).

LMAO, sorry for the overly delayed response Jackie. I guess I did not click the subscription box before.

My "brkntrxn" nick stands for "Breakin' Traction" in reference to a 78 F100 shortbed with a 460 that I owned in the early 90s. It could spin the tires for as long as I held the pedal to the floor. And since I was in my early 20s, single and in the military, I did that as often as possible. I always wanted to have "brkntrxn" on a license plate, but the Georgia plates only offered 7 characters at the time. In the mid-90s I went to sign up for something online and needed a user name. That popped into my head and I have been using it ever since.

"And that is the rest of the story", as Paul Harvey used to say. Nope, not my uncle, or at least he never claimed me.

Thanks for getting back to me... We did a small car show for the Boys & Girls Club last week - enjoyed it - 29 guys showed up (only 17 were registered so the extra were appreciated.) Three Mustangs arrived late - more than half the voting was already tabulated... but the rest of the kids voted for the Mustangs. We had two categories - Best of Show and Car I'd Most Like to Own.
Best of Show a 2005 Red Convertible Ferrari won - but one of the Mustangs took 2nd place
Car I'd Most Like to Own - was won by a Burgundy Metallic Corvette - however, again, the Mustang came in second place.

Had they been able to find the place and gotten there in time - there is no doubt - they would have been the First Place winners in both categories...

How loud is loud? There is a 103 Db cap - and if he is over that - the track will give him one opportunity to adjust the noise level -- and if he can't get below the 103 Db - they'll ask him to leave.

It's sad - I've seen it happen. It's the track rules -- needed because of the residential communities nearby.

Please, please warn him...

Jackie,

Thanks for the info. I am pretty certain he is ok. He's had the car at RRR before, as recently as this past March if I am correct.

Kevin- thank you. I hope he will be okay.
I watched a kid in an S2000 at Roebling the first weekend in April - get tossed. He was so upset, he had taken off of work Friday, paid for the 2-day event, and a hotel for 2 nights... he was really, really upset - and all because his car was too loud. He had been warned - he just didn't believe that they have some one in the sound booth...

Snake - You have a big decision - life altering to make - in November Dark Side is back at RRR -- all your NASA buddies will be with us... (You do know the RX8 guys yes? If yes, you'll miss them - they won't be with you... but say "hey" to Ronn for me - he'll be with ya.) That same weekend Nov 6-7 - NASA is back at CMP. Now you have that decision to make....

Please, please warn him...I ran there in March and got a warning. The grid marshall told me to let up in front of the sound booth. It worked great. I ran the rest of the wkend OK.
Thanks
