Ok i got the 95 cobra and Im not able to spend $$ on it... My wife was not happy with the purchase....
I do need to do somthing about the suspension for track events and autocross.
I was planning on running this weekend but, Im not sure what I want to do with the way the car is now.
I am Checking out ebay and forums to see what may be out there for cheep.
First off what is the set up to go for?
Then what set up will be OK This is where Im going to be right now... No full set up just a better than stock setup
what set up NOT to do? such as KYB's and Gabrial shocks!!
Im not planning on being a track nut.. (Ok I know that is a good one)
I have H&R's on my Pace car and Bilstein's Hotchis cc plates, steeda lower control arms. along with other Mods
It works well although sits to low.
I have taken the pace car for granted and now I see what stock is... Not good at all.
Im not looking to do a full out package like a Kenny brown or such. Just cant put the funding to that maybe in a few years.
Thanks for the help.

Go to your first event with a stock vehicle, you can just opt for one day just to see how the car does and get some advice. My advice for your first event, make sure it has brakes and runs good with no leaks, then after a few events, start adding mods.

I was thinking about that. Just getting some seat time and learing. I am just not used to the car and how it reacts, its so much different from the pace car and Im not used to a stock car, feels SO loose. I am really looking forward to it!!
I think we will be there on saturday Only. How is that looking for runs.
Angie (my wife) will be running her Mini and I would have the 95 cobra
Both need instructors and would it be possible to be in 2 different run groups?
Friday may be ruff. but Im sure saturday is tighter for the track times at this point.
Probably going to get a hotel and trying to save some $$ and just come one day. We just had to spend almost 1300.00 on the mini this past weekend in Ohio to get it fixed...

Saturday is fine and we'll get someone in the car with both of you. Maybe give you the same instructor if possible? This will be a good "first" time event to get your feet wet. Just make sure the car is capable of going out on the track without issues.

I am Going over the car this week. Seems pretty good want to flush the brake fluid, the brakes are good. Its down on power, not sure why. Im having a friend of mine look at it this week. Im wondering if the exhuast is the Problem. It has a off-road H and a Magnaflow exhaust. Im wondering if there is not enough Back pressure and that is why its lacking power. Check engine light was on, fixed the problems with that - No light but still no power. I did the battery disconnect also, still no power. Tires are new but not very good track tires. I ll be running them because I dont what to swap out with the Pacer and run those tires. Like you said get my feet wet and see what happens and maybe make improvments If we can make it to VIR in the fall.

I don't know what you mean by low on power. These cars come with 260 hp even though they are rated at 240 hp. Your car would have about 220- 225 rwhp. That's not a lot of mojo for 3600 lbs. :(

Its MUCH Much Much slower than my Pace car.
Pace car is stock and car Roast the tires
This 95 Cobra is not up to snuff. Although I have it now...
When you have a car for a while you Kinda take it for granted.
My Pace car had about the same mileage as the 95 and wow its in much better shape and I am realizing the Mods on the Pace car and what a difference then make. You loose site of that when you dont have a stock car to compare it to.
I am wondering if Back pressure is an issue

No, back pressure would not be an issue. I would suggest a chip for the car, as you will have the shift retards taken out and it will make a difference. Dan at Pro Dyno did my 1994 and it puts down 302 rwhp with AFR 185 heads.

Tony - Looks like you've hooked another pushrod to the track. Going to have to watch this and see what modification he does to his car.

When I need more brakes I plan on having a race pad and rotors for track.

Yeah Larry...those 94/95 owners are pretty easy to hook!
merk, if your car is going to be a dedicated track car then you might want to have coil overs all the way around. I got mine from maximum motorsports.
