2011 SVT Mustang Cobra Quick Reference Guidebook

After some thought and after tired of pulling my old 2005 SVT Calendars out to look up production numbers, I've decided we need a "SVT Mustang Cobra Quick Reference Guidebook."

The goal is to have a 20 page book for quick reference. It will have 16 pages dedicated to statistics including a breakdown of production numbers by color, interior type, top color, and coupe or convertible. It will include all SVT Cobra years from 1993 to 2004 and all SVT Shelby GT 500s including 2007 to 2011.

The book will probably be produced sometime in 2011 and have a lot of important references to anything SVT including websites and events. This book will only be available to SVT Cobra Club members.

The good part is that the photos in the book will be SVT Cobra Club members cars. What we will ask is that you take photos including wheels and engine shots for that year's page. We'd like to have some stock looking cars as well as some personalized ones. Each year, we are going to see if we can produce a new guidebook with rotating photos in there from different members and adding the new production numbers for the next year's SVT Mustangs.

If you can think of anything you would like to see in this publication, please post here so we can get your ideas on what else we need to put in there on the other 4 pages.

As for ideas on what else you can put in, I would often get asked how my Cobra was different from a stock Mustang.

That's not a bad idea, we'll have to see if we can get it in there or maybe do one year for each guidebook and show the differences.

Great Idea Tony! :thumbsup: I would love to contribute photos and will post any ideas I think of as they come to me.

I know for my 99 the Amber in the taillights, SVT Cobra badge and "mustang" bumper are all unique to that year so im looking forward to seeing the 1999 section of the book ;). Let me know when you need photos.

I like the idea, too. Need to have the little changes from year to year, such as the 94-95 taillights, then the 96-98 taillights. ashtray and dash clock pod 94-97, then cupholders and no clock on 98's, etc.

Now that the SVT Superfest is over, we are going to start on the reference guidebook. Right now, it will be 20 pages, 15 for each different year SVT Cobra and SVT Shelby GT 500 and one page for the Cobra R's. The other 4 pages will be club information including information about our website and events.

I'd like to put member's cars in there but we would like to have some stock photos as well as some tastefully modified ones. Action and still shots will be acceptable, too. I'm really excited about getting this put together for every SVT Mustang owner. You'll only be able to get this guidebook through the club as this will be considered another club benefit.

Keith, I'd like to have your car on the front cover!! :thumbsup:

This is just a sample of the inside pages. This is just a first draft so the actual inside pages will most likely be different but you have to start somewhere. Take a look and tell me what you think?

I definitely want to have shades of black and gray or maybe copy the calendar where the pages are the color of the featured car?

Remember, we want this to look professionally done as best we can so your car photos will need to be at their best. You'll have to ask yourself, is my car at its best? If the answer is no, then take more photos with it polished up and at different angles. Your car should at least look stock body wise for the first edition. Aftermarket wheels are okay but sheet metal and accessories should be close to stock. We can add modified cars in the spaces available below in the sample.

Front cover layout...thoughts?? This will not be the front cover photo but is used just as an example. If Keith cannot provide me with a good close up action shot of his car then the front page will be open for anyone who can provide a good action shot of their car so post them up... :thumbsup:

As soon as I get a quote on the guidebooks, we'll start to get to work as the groundwork is already laid out for it. All Cobra Club member photos will be considered and we need 1 pic for each year. Don't bother submitting if you do not have a window decal on the car or side window decals as they will not be considered. Thanks!
