The SCMC and Pro-Dyno are planning for a early Spring cruise-in/dyno day at Pro-Dyno on February 26, 2011. If you missed our fall event, you won't want to miss this one!

This is our first fling of the new year before the show season kicks in and we want to start it with a bang. There is no charge to enter the show or to cruise-in, this is just our way of thanking everyone coming out in 2010.

We do ask for a canned good donation to anyone who comes by to check everything out. In the fall, we collected 247 cans of food and we'd like to double that number. This is the time of the year when things get rough for those that are truly in need of food and shelter.

Dyno pulls will be $60.00 for three pulls including Air/fuel. Any tuning most be scheduled with Dan or Paul prior to the event. Please put this on your calendars (Save the date) so we can have a good turnout. Our last SCMC Spring day was a huge success with over 150 Mustangs and Fords at the event.

As you know, we gave away free prizes at the fall event and we expect to do the same again this Spring. Free food, free door prizes, free awards. Just show up and shine it up for the judges!

Judging starts at 12:00 noon and awards will be given out around 2:00 p.m.

If you know you're coming, please post here with your name and car information.

You will also be able to buy the "Mustang Dynasty" book with an autographed copy for $45.00.

Free prizes include:

Hilbish Ford is supplying Ford Racing goodies
Free Dyno Pulls from pro-Dyno
More...

Show award categories are as follows:

Best Shelby
Best SVT Cobra
Best Mustang
Best AC Cobra
Best Ford
Longest distance traveled

Tony,
We should be there again. I would like to try and set up maybe a 50/50 raffle to help raise some money for the leukemia and lymphoma society. Please let me know if we would be able to work that out.

V/R,
James A. Stalnaker

James,

I think supporting charities is a great idea as the SCMC supports numerous charities every year; however, we already do a 50/50 for the local food bank as well as collect canned goods to help them. I think doing more than one 50/50 would divide the funds and neither charity would benefit as much as they could. It's probably best since this is an SCMC event to support the club's charity and maybe do one for your pick at another event such as the Autofair at the speedway.

Thanks,

Tony

Tony,

Thanks for the response. I was unaware there was already a 50/50 going on. I couldn't agree more that if we tried to add another neither charity would get what the truly deserve. Thanks again.

Okay, I think I am going to be doing plaques for the cruise-in the weekend after next. If you would like to have your car on the plaque award, post them here. I'd like to have the photos by Wednesday the latest so I can have them all done by next weekend. You must be either an SCMC or TCUSA member to get your car on there!

Thanks!!

WOW!! Can you say record turnout?! I didn't get to see everything that was going on but I heard and saw that we were packed like sardines. Both parking lots, front and back, were full and even the lot next door was full. A guesstimate was over 150 to around 200 cars. We ran out of hamburgers and everyone was swamped including Dan, Paul, Tint guy, Lori and her helper, and the SCMC crew. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their help and assistance at the cruise-in.

Thanks to the sponsors:

1. Pro-Dyno
2. Hilbish Ford - Main sponsor
3. Data Plates Plus - Provided free trophies
4. Fore Precision - Gift certificates
5. Detail Dave - detailer
6. Speedworks Tinting
7. SCMC

Thanks to the following helpers:

1. Registration - Dennis McCrary, Roger McQueen
2. Judging - Ted Hall (Thanks a bunch, I know it was hard with all of those nice cars out there!)
3. Set up and take down - Chuck Hicks
4. Cooking - Lori Desio and helpers. (Man, those homemade fudge brownie balls were freaking awesome!!)

You all were top notch!!

Event winners:

Best AC Cobra - Paul Huss
Best Ford - Mike Williams
Best Mustang - Robert Kaufman
Best SVT Cobra - Michael Swanson
Best Shelby - Wayne Goode
Longest Distance - Anthony Flores - Racine, Wisconsin
50/50 winner - Paid for two tickets and took home $142.00 - Danny Clampett and son

We collected 237 cans of food and $140.00 which was dropped off at the Pilgrim's Inn this afternoon. Thanks to everyone that contributed the canned goods and played the 50/50. I was told that that food we brought would serve 60 local families a meal and the money would be used to buy more food at the Second Harvest Food Bank.

SCMC also recruited 7 new members and 1 renewal throughout the day. Thanks to everyone for an awesome turnout!

If anyone took pics, please post some here, thanks.
