National Mustang Day - April 16-17, 2016

This year the SCMC will be celebrating National Mustang Day. The goal is that we have some sort of activity to celebrate the Mustang. This year's activity will be cruising to Helen, GA. If you would like to cruise with us, then simply reply here with name, year of car, color of car, and type of car (coupe or convertible).

Details and road maps will be posted shortly.

Cruisers include the following:

1. Wayne McCutcheon - 1994 Rio Red SVT Cobra Convertible
2. Tony Sorrentino - 2009 Vista Blue Shelby GT500 Coupe
3. Michael Woodward - 2001 White SVT Cobra Coupe
4. Jay Trivison - 2011 Black Shelby GT500 Convertible

Meet Points And Meet Times:

10:00 am - Exit 56 in Greer SC - Spinx Station
11:00 am - Exit 173 in Toccoa GA - Exxon Station (Fuel Stop)
12:00 pm - Arrive Helen, GA as a group - we will eat lunch there
13:00 pm - Leave Helen, GA for Macedonia GA
14:00 pm - Arrive/Leave Macedonia, GA
15:00 pm - Arrive Tallulah Falls Gorge, GA
16:00 pm - Arrive Toccoa Falls, GA
17:00 pm - leave to go back home

All times after 13:00 are approximate and we may run earlier or later. We're trying to cover the Falls in these two towns with stops for rest breaks and pictures. Anyone going with us will receive a free "National Mustang Day" window decal at lunch. If anyone wants to meet us along the way, the above is our posted schedule. Feel free to post cruise photos and plug "National Mustang Day" anywhere we post photos.

Next week's National Mustang Day cruise will not be able to include the Tail of the Dragon because it would take too much time, about 12 hours and 600 miles.

So, it looks like the cruise layout will include going to Helen, GA, then to Macedonia GA, then to Tallulah Falls Gorge GA, through Toccoa Falls, GA, and then back to the house. That's about 9 hours and 350 miles. I will post the meet points on the bulletin board along with meet times in Greer, Toccoa, Helen, Macedonia, Tallulah Falls, and back to Toccoa Falls.

Weather looks to be a high of 72 and sunny in Helen, GA next weekend. Great day for a cruise through the mountains.
