MUSTANG WEEK AT MYRTLE BEACH

I WOULD LIKE FOR US TO START A WEEK THAT ALL MUSTANG OWNERS GO TO THE BEACH ANUALLY LIKE THE HARLEYS, STREET BIKES AND HOTRODS. I HAVE CALLED THE MB CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND CHECKED ON THE LAST FULL WEEK OF JULY.MAINLY THE LAST FOUR DAYS
THERE ARE NO OTHER MAJOR ACTIVITIES THIS WEEK. I THINK
THAT WITH A LOT OF HARD WORK AND HELP FROM YOU GUYS
THIS COULD BE A MAJOR EVENT IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. I AM GOING TO CONTACT EVERY CLUB IN THE EASTERN UNITED STATES AND POST ON MAJOR INTERNET WEB-SITES AND CONTACT THE MOST POPULAR MUSTANG MAGAZINES. PLEASE CHECK OUT WWW.MBMUSTANGWEEK.STANGNET.COM. LET’S ALL JOIN TOGETHER AND TELL ONE ANOTHER:thumbsup:

Good idea Rod but....... if I were going, I'd want to go in the Fall, say November or Spring, say March/April. The rates are cheaper, not as crowded so it could be just all of us Mustangers. Going in July means premium hotel bills, crowded everywhere, and we'd all be in a mix. You can also get beach front hotels really easy for a lot less during those months. we could line the streets of the main drag and cruise all night without it being bumper to bumper for hours on end.

Of course that's just me so others may want the hot weather, premium hotel prices, and deal with the crowds. BTW, it's still about 80 degrees at Myrtle in November so it wouldn't be like it would be blustery cold. JMHO ;)

I totally agree with Tony on this one. I've stayed at Ocean Isle and driven down to North Myrtle and Myrtle Beach in the month of July. It is EXTREMELY crowded. Not to mention you are paying top dollar for hotels, long waits to eat and you might as well forget about cruising the strip. Why not try something like October??

Yeah but isn't the "chick factor" higher in the summer time than in the fall or early spring? :)

Tom,

We're all married so that might have a hair to do with it but I can see your point. Looking never hurt anyone. ;)

after checking all events schedules i can think of, this is the time for people to get out to the beach, and enjoy some mustangs its a go.i have talked with braod way at the beach and they will let us park ther friday and saturday nite at 7:00pm and also have some places GIVING US RATE DISCOUNTS . i will add them to site and a day or so go have alook www.mbmustangweek.stangnet.com .
if everyone complains about this or that it will never happen and that is not my goal .just sit back and think about for a minute a week like the harleys but mustangs!!!!!!!!!!

Something about a cruise at 1.7 MPH in 90 degree heat......talk about wearing out the clutch leg...........3 hours per mile?

I'd rather cruise at a few more miles per hour than July would let us do.

Broadway at the Beach is a good place to show the cars, though.

I agree with you dave, I'm all for a beach cruise, but really would like to do it NOT in the high season..

November-February lends itself well to topless cruising...

They definitely seem to be. Maybe none of them have ever been in Myrtle Beach during Harley week. Typically you don't go to the beach that week unless you have a Harley. I used to work every summer at Myrtle Beach and it was way cool to see nothing but bikes (no rice-rockets either) cruising around all week long. The police were out in force more....but that goes with the "profile".

A Mustang week would be extremely cool and yes it would have to take place during the summer.

If you just want to 'cruise' to the beach well you can do that anytime of the year....this is something totally different.

Totally different? Absolutely! But again, I'd rather do it when it is cooler and not as crowded.

As for the chick factor.... look at it this way. Say this thing gets built up to 1000 people attending or more. Then all of the cool chicks you will be looking at and drooling over will own Ponycars. You can cruise the blvd and have time to lear or you can do it in the summer when everyone is bumper to bumper, hot as h*ll, a freakin zoo, and you just missed the dang red light while the chicks run off to the next one, only to ride off in the sunset.

(Thought to myself: If only those dang harley bikers, corvettes, Camaros, Firebirds weren't here!)

Get my point????

I can't imagine a better time of year for a Myrtle Beach Mustang Week! I can imagine how big this could get in just a couple of years! Rodcobra has put a lot into it already. As far a the heat goes....I work out in it every day.... And for "all the crowds", so be it! I thought the idea of was to be seen with your car. I'm all for it!

This is Myrtle Beach, crowds, traffic chicks, etc. That is the week we are down there anyway. Sounds great, I'm in. the only thing is you said meeting will be Fri. & Sat. nite, we will be leaving on Friday. so will not get to gathering at Hard Rock this year but next year we will move our vacation up a day:thumbsup:
or maybe set gather at on a different day. any way it should be fun. keep us filled in.

RodCobra, any info on where people are staying? Block of rooms anywhere? Some, like myself, may want to come down for a day or two if they can't stay the whole week.

I'd love to have a MB mustang week or weekend. Keep us posted on how the first year goes. I would like it to be in Sept myself. But just couldn't swing it this year.
