I hear ya Todd!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I'll have to get a Canes hat for the Gingerman trip. They did need a former Penguin to win it!!!! Anyone up for watching the game Sat. night at the hotel???

At the hotel? I'll be at the ESA watching it. Yeah John, wear the hat. That will be great. It was a great game. Much cleaner than any in the Toronto series. Those guys were thugs. We almost got in a fight at the last home game with some of their fans. They were trying to crawl over the wall into our suite. The police came in and escorted them out.
Do I think they'll win it all. Not likely, but possible. Am I glad they won that game. Hell yeah. I just hope they'll finally get some respect. All I'm hearing now is that they let them win so that they could win it in game 5 at home.
Whatever.

They didn't let them win. the TV analist crack me up. They didn't have a chance during pre-game. How about Hacek(sp?) putting one in his own goal. You're going to game 3? I'll be at the hotel tomorrow night on the way up to Ginerman. If you have game 4 tickets give me a call I'll go!!!! :D :D :D :D

I was going to caution you, John, about wearing such apparell in Michigan, but you will probably be OK. During the resort season most of the population of South Haven will be Blackhawk fans:rotf:

Anyone catch the coverage of Stanley Cup champions parade in Detroit? Each player and coach, and their families, rode in a red Mustang convertible  .

Originally the NHL was comprised of 6 teams. The top 4 teams during regular season qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Each round was a best of seven series. It required 8 wins total in the two rounds to win the Cup. In a series in the mid fifties a fan threw an octopus (eight legs) onto the ice during the first game for good luck. The Red Wings went on to win the Stanley Cup. The tradition has continued as luck for the Red Wings even though there are now four rounds of the playoffs and requires a total of 16 wins to win the Cup.

The original six: Boston; DETROIT; Chicago; Montreal; New York; and Toronto.
The owner of the Whalers (Hurricanes) is from Detroit and originally wanted to move the team from Hartford to The Palace of Auburn Hills (a suburb north of Detroit) but the NHL would not let him. An entirely new market area was chosen for the team, Raliegh, NC.
