I got the call, or should I say email from my sales person. I got my VIN 1Fxxxxxxxxx302100 with a build date of June 11th. She said I should see it by the end of the month. I was hopping to have it by the 4th of July and my dreams may come true.
Cheers All,

Yea, my VIN is 1FXXXXXXXXXXX1521 and my build date is scheduled June 10... which SVT says is the 'week of' , not garanteed that 'day'.
But, I can only hope to see it by July 4th.
I'll cross my fingers for us all!

Yeah, I know it is the week of, however my salesman pulled a few strings and got the exact date mine was being built. I found out today from VOPC that my car is due for delivery at the dealer on 6/24. Only a week away!!!!!..I am so pumped for this...

Hey Rob03, sounds like your getting real close there. Haven't heard anything more today on mine. Did talk to the dealer though and had him fax me the buyers order so I can go to the Credit Union and get the deal done. I'm already preapproved so it will be a simple thing. I can't believe the way some of these dealers are ripping people off with this $3K-10K over sticker crap. I let my fingers do the walkin' till I found someone who sold it at MSRP. Already got the digital camera ready to go too. Hopefully next week at the latest we will be ridin high my friend

My dealer told me that my build date was pushed back to June 24. I'm frustrated once again. I guess I'll just wait another 3 weeks, and hope I see it by early July.

Well, I called VOPC this afternoon and was told my car was at ramp 8P. I asked where that was and she said Titusville, FL. Thats where I live!!!! I know of a big lot down by the railroad tracks and found out that is where they bring in all the new cars and load onto the trucks for the Central FL. dealers. So I get into my SUV and go there. This place has security like a prison. There is an 8" chainlink fence with razor wire on top and all electrified. There are two huge gates (kept closed) with a guard in a building at the entrance. So I stop and expalin to the guard about my car being there and he says too bad. I can't really blame him with the way the world is today. I mean they don't know I'm not some flake who will mess with the cars. So I guess I feel OK with that. But knowing its about 4 miles away kills me. With luck I should get the call Monday, Tuesday tops. Almost here :D

Well it's the 24th so now I have the wait for the phone call. Now being the realist I am, I don't expect the call today, but sometime in the next few days...The wait gets worse the closer you get...LOL
Bluecobra03, did you get yours yet?

Well, folks, I got the call. It's here. They're cleaning it up and gettin it ready. Unfortunately it's raining like a sum bxxxxx here. I went to the Credit Union and they had a problem finding all my paperwork. So now I have to wait until tomorrow to go get the car. Ain't life grand. I can't believe my luck. Anyway I told the dealer to just tuck it away and don't let anyone near it. He promised he would and he's been great to me so far so I don't have any reason to doubt him. Sleeping tonight will be hell though. I'm gonna at least go there and look at it tonight though. Gotta wait for momma to get home though. Rob03 your days coming !!!!! It's an awesome feelin dude.

Bluecobra03, Did you get it yet? How is it? Any pics? Tell me your first thoughts when you drove the car and how it compares to prior years. How are you going to break your car in?

Well, it was almost going to be a good day Monday. Here's the deal so far. My dealer called me to tell me my 03 Sonic Blue Coupe was in Monday. I was all hyped and ready. I was going to go pick it up. Then he calls back and tells me that the car is stalling and it's in the shop. I told him all about the bad gas I had read about and even gave him the link to the whole story online. So they go and change plugs and cats. So last night my wife and I go to pick up the car. I get there and my wife and I are checking it out real good, especially given all the stories I've read. Well, it turns out the drivers side headlight is fogged inside, the clear plastic lense over the speedo is scratched, there is a cut in the plastic molding on the drivers side where you step in, a couple of spots where the paint is hosed up on the rear fascia and small minor/fine scratches in a bunch of places where the dipstick detail guys used dirty sponges or something when washing/drying the car. So now I've got the owner outside and we are looking at all this stuff and he is highly pissed. He gets the detail manager out there and tells him if he ever see's a car like this again his ass is gone. Then he tells him to get the parts ordered and get the paint fixed and is very apologetic to us. Then the mechanic who changed out the plugs and cats comes out and we're talking. He tells me Ford now realizes there is a problem with the cars stalling. Apparently they are working on a reprogramming of some module because the car is set to run too rich at idle. In the interim, he tells me I need to drive it like I would any high performance car and not baby it. For instance, when starting it cold, don't wait till it warms up to go. Just hit the gas and go with it. So here I am waiting for the parts to come in which should be tomorrow and I'll finally have it to drive. Anyway, sorry for the long post folks. Just trying to keep all you informed on what I have been told. Lets hope Ford gets this resolved real soon.

bluecobra03,
Sorry you are having these problems. All I can say about mine which I picked up last night is it's PERFECT ! All and more than advertised. I really believe the bad gas was isolated to a certain number of cars during a certain run. It can happen to any dealer. Just a bummer it happened now. I hope they get it all fixed and your driving that beast soon !.
As for anyone waiting, I will have enjoyed mine for many miles by then ! Oh and for being the first 2003 Cobra owner at my dealer they gave me a 4 Year 60K free maintenance package. Now that's service with a smile.
Cheers,

Well Rob03, I finally picked up the car this afternoon. Everything was fine and like you, the dealer threw in a 6yr./60,000 mile extended warranty to offset some of the grief I went through. I guess there was a silver lining in that cloud after all. The car does drive awesome. I have only 60 miles on it now but I'm trying to keep my foot out of the sc for a little while. I want those rings to seat properly. The tranny is a little notchy but nothing I won't get used to in a hurry. I'll try to get some photos tomorrow and post them. I would have done it tonight but the battery in the digital camera died. I did get plenty of looks though. I never could find any build sheet in the car bumpers anywhere. I found some part number stickers that referenced "Term" on them from the front and rear bumpers and rocker panels. If anyone has any other ideas as to where one may be I would appreciate it. Well, time to get this camera battery charging so have a good one and I'll be in touch.
