I had to ask Tom. He says he thinks it's seven feet or eight feet. Probably seven. The pool holds about 35,000 gallons of water.... or jello or milk... whatever you want to put in it. We've sorta stuck with water since it's easier to swim around in and see through when you're snorkeling. Plus it doesn't make a mess like jello does when you get out of it..... I mean that's what I hear anyway....

I think the thing that really helped clear it up was the stuff Tom used to clean the filter sand. Plus the rain really helps. And we had a itty bitty downpour yesterday evening. I say itty bitty because it didn't last long at all, by oh my the water that gushed down in those few minutes!

Man! The peanuts were outside all day and we had so many left over! I mean tons left over that we ended up throwing out because we didn't have anyway to freeze them all in storage. But hey, we can do the boiled peanuts again. I also had way too much fudge left over. I think we need a portable table to take with us to put out snacks on so people will actually eat up!

That is the funniest thing I've seen in a while! Loved it! More! More! You know Tom and I have a special needs daughter, Bonnie, who is eight years old. Bonnie and I and my one of my other daughter's, Kati, went to see Scooby-Doo this morning. (The two older kids are off at Lake Junaluska with the church youth until Thursday). There was a part in there of two people kissing. Big close up. Bonnie, in her loudest voice, yelled, "Ewww, Yuk!!". All the kids in the theater starting saying, "Ewww, Yuk!!" and laughing. But I think the "Morning Breath" picture is even funnier than that! (Is funnier a word? More funny?)

Hmmm, another scrapbooker and rubber stamper. How old is your daughter? I would love to see some of your scrapbook art and some of her stamping art. I've been wanting a diecutter for over a year now. But up until recently they've only had the kind for schools that is way expensive. Now they have this personal die-cutter out by Sizzix. I broke down and bought that this week and about 8 dies for it. And I've ordered the Shadow Alphabet and am expecting it tomorrow. I get so excited about silly things like that. So, let me know if you need any die cuts for your scrapbook and if I have the shape, I'll send it on to you!

Okay, BecBec and Lisa... I've been trying to think of a story to tell you, but just couldn't seem to get the creative juices flowing lately. Writer's block? hahaha

While I was flipping through a scrapbook I made years ago (1996) I came across something I had written and included in it. So here it goes (may be a little boring, but sit in a chair, prop up your feet, think back to the summer days of childhood when the neighborhood kids would all play flashlight tag and family reunions... and if at all possible, put on John Denver's "Country Roads" playing in the background to set the mood...

I bought my first "Summer Watermelon" the other day. The sound of the 'squish' and the 'crack' of slicing it open brought fond memories to my mind. As I scooped up spoonfuls of watermelon and placed them in a bowl, I enjoyed the fragrance and memories it brought back...

...Laughter... Children screaming and running playing tag... Adults sitting around in lawn chairs... Sunshine... Family...

One of the happiest memories of my childhood is not one event out of many, but rather a collection of events spent with my family. I remember how much fun and special it was to go to Nannie and Papa's in the early afternoon and play outside. Nannie would get the watermelon knife, Papa would put the watermelon outside on the picnic table. The sound of the 'squish' and then 'crack' of splitting the watermleon open is still fresh in my mind today. We knew it was going to be a good one when the knife would pierce the watermelon and then the whole thing would split open. And the smell. What a wonderful smell. Cousins cutting up with cousins, aunts & uncles talking about the weather...

..."Let me spray your legs, Puddin'. We don't want the 'squitos to eat you up." And then the can of OFF would be passed around. Kickball in the front of Nannie and Papa's yard - that was great! Sometimes softball. Everyone always getting a chance to bat or kick. Running to piles of rocks or leaves for first base; second base was someone's jacket; and third base was usually that tree right there real close to the dirt road leading back out to Highway 378. And then there was that tree behind home plate that we always climbed in and sat in...

I hope we can give our children such wonderful, happy childhood memories with their cousins, aunts & uncles, and grandparents.

Yeah, I remember her... "If life is just a bowl of cherries, then what am I doing in the pitts?" But really you guys, I would love to be published, but short little blurbs is really all I write. Nothing like a novel! Some of the things I write I would love to compile into a book and be published. That's always been a fantasy of mine. But then I get embarrassed (like after posting last night) that I'm too mushy or something. I write a lot of memory blurbs, letters to my children that I put away for 'one day', poetry, and I write out a lot of prayers. Then there's the songs I make up and sing to the children. Well, not so much now as when they were little babies. But you do NOT want to hear me sing! I remember getting up at night and rocking the crying baby in the den while singing and then Tom getting up saying he'd rather hear the baby cry than my singing!! The only other writing I do is a monthly newsletter for our extended family. That's always a lot of fun!

Bring it on, baby! Hey, just call me Hollywood....:rotf: As my agent I think you should know I decided a long time ago if I ever did get to publish my work, I would only do it under a false name. That's the only way I know of that I can be honest and be myself without worrying about what other people think of me.

More, more, please. Man, that sounds just like the place I grew up!! We played our softball in one of my grandfathers cow pastures. Nothing like diving for a line drive and coming up smelling different than before you hit the ground. To have those days back with Nanny and Papa watching their grandkids having a good time. It's kind of ironic that we both called our grandparents the same thing.

That is weird that we both called our grandparents Nannie and Papa. No one I've ever met did. It was always Memaw and Pop and Gamma. Cool. About the cow pasture... sounds more like double-dog-dare-you softball! Eww, gross!:rotf: :rotf:
