Though I don't have any pics, I did go out and get a new toy. I purchased a 1990 LX 5.0 for $1500 yesterday. It's a little rough, but all in all, it's a nice addition to my driveway (or parking lot) anyway. My cobra is having terrible problems with the chip. It doesn't even start with the vortech chip anymore, so i stuffed the factory chip back in. It'll at least start up that way, but i haven't driven it yet. I originally sent the chip back in to have a new program burnt for it. Anyway, when i got it back, the car didn't start. So i sent it back again. If it's not one thing, it's a thousand others. So i've got the old reliable 5 liter to play with til the cobra's slitherin around once again.

Pics soon to come...........

who's doing the tune on it? sheesh, forget the vortech chip, take it to someone like true blue, and get that thing tuned right.

Take the vortech chip to True Blue and they will dyno tune it!!! If you want more than one program then let them get you one with the leads still attached to it. BUT GET YOUR CAR DOWN TO TRUE BLUE!! :D ;) Well worth the money! AND if you do it quickly you'll see mine sitting in there getting a new engine! :D ;) ;)

I'll definately get my car out there, but i'm a little nervous about driving the car with the factory chip. I don't know if it'll ruin it or not. I'll definately get my car there as quickly as i possibly can.

I don't remember the address right off hand, but it's the exact same place that i had sent the chip off to originally. Ya know, the "mail order" chip. I just filled out a card with all my mods on it, and sent it back. They seemed to have done a decent job the first time, but this time is different. I know that i need to get over to a dyno (true blue) and get a dyno tune. I really really need that. But, this chip (once it's right) will get me by til i can get the $$ together for a new chip and many many runs on the dyno. Everything will work itself out right. Honestly, i'm not too upset about my cobra anymore. I've got a good, old, reliable 5 liter to play with. I just tore it apart this afternoon. I put on new head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and intake (upper and lower) gaskets. I figured i'd tear it apart and see what it looked like and it didn't disappoint. She looks clean as far as motor goes (inside and out). It does have a few minor transmission problems: It'll pop out of 1st unless you "double clutch" it in gear (if you're going to get on it), 3rd gear will make a slight grind on a "speedy" shift if your getting on it. Other than that, she runs very well. Nice and cool and decent oil pressure. I hooked up my autometer oil pressure guage just to make sure everything was alright. It idles at about 55 or 56 psi (oil press) and runs up to about 70 or so when getting on it. So it's good there. The hood needs some paint, but it was a steal nevertheless.
