I know that this has been the subject of many threads, but I just wasn't paying attention before I got the light. I have Bassani X-pipes and I recall they may throw the sensors off. I had about 1500 miles on the Bassanis, till now without a problem. I have about 500 miles with the light.
My plan is to ignore the light. Bad idea?

Buy, rent or borrow a code scanner (most Autozones will have one) make sure it is the rear O2 sensors, then clear it. I have the Bassanis and it took mine 3,000 miles to throw a code. I just check it and clear it.

I got a MIL on my 01 after about 300 miles on a catted Bassani. I bought an Actron OBII scanner at Autozone for around $100. Best money I ever spent. A dealer will charge $75 to scan a code. I had a code for catalyst operating below effeciency on the right side and later the left side showed up after I had cleared the first MIL and then the second one popped up which is why you want to eliminate the cat O2 MIL's. If you already have a MIL, the others will not show up unless you scan them. buy a set of MIL Eliminators from Dallas Mustang. They work great. You can not hurt your engine driving with this MIL.
