I am new here, and have never own any ford vehicle~ However, i am planning to get the 2003 Nissan 350z track, after reading the specs and reviews of the 03 cobra have changed my mind abit. i've been asking ppl advices which of the two i should purchase, there seem to be no definite answer~ most said for drag race, Cobra, for handeling, & style, 350z~ some say ford vehicles are not reliable, and i have read some post from ppl who are complaing the reliability of the 03 cobra. I just have a really hard time choosing from the two. Spent 2 weeks thinking, going back and forth, just can't make up my mind....Does the 03 cobra offer Brembo breaks? i thought it does (read some where).

yes, it might sound stupid asking this question in a cobra forum~ but i have asked the same question in the Nissan forum, and people give good advices, some say Ford produces good reliable cars. However, here is a link of aGuy who complains about the 03 Cobra (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthre...25&pagenumber=1)
Here's another link they show me: (Vehicle dependability) (http://www.jdpa.com/presspass/pr/images/01102afull.gif)

As far as getting honest opinions here, I think you will get that. WE ALL LOVE OUR COBRAS!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: There's definitely something special about a mustang. :D :D All cars are mechanical devices and have one problem or another, this is true. Some cars are built better than others (sometimes even cars built by the same company on different days), but the decision to get a Cobra comes from the HEART! My 99 has been a small piece of heaven! I am one VERY satisfied Cobra owner/lover!! :D :D :D

That is one guy with one Cobra...I wouldn't base your decision on wether to buy one or not on one person's bad luck! I know there were some problems with the '01's according to some people. I've loved mine and I have never regretted buying it. BUY A COBRA and JOIN OUR CLUB! :D ;)

well,
along the same lines...
this is one girl with ....
well, we have two Cobra's.
We had two other's ....
We sold one of them cuz we had two "show" cars and one had to go .... that was an awesome '99 ....
The '97 was awesome too - but we found a '99 in good condition for a great price, so we went for it and that will be our track car.
So far, so good !!
Here is our former '99: (ODE TO SPARKY)

Do not let one person’s bad experience with one car turn you against the entire model. I’m sure if you looked deep enough, you would find identical stories with all of the manufacturers. I do take some comfort in how the incident was handled in the end.
Nissan has had their own problems of late. Declining sales and a weak product line is hurting their bottom line. The recent changes to the Altima and Maxima will hopefully help to turn things around. They really missed the boat with the 300 ZX. That was a great car but they just priced it out of the market (Toyota did the same with the Supra). The same car in today’s market ($40K price range) would sell very well.
The 350 Z should be a fun little car. It will not have the power of an 03 Cobra, that’s a totally different ballgame. I would wait and test drive both cars before you make a decision. Up to this time I’ve only seen pictures of each vehicle. I’m sure pictures do neither car justice. I want to sit in the seats, see how the controls feel, feel the power as it builds and feel how the car moves. That’s my hard earned money I’m putting on the line. I want to spend it wisely.
From my experiences, I’ve owned three Fords (2 Mustangs and 1 Explorer) and have been very pleased. They were/are all very reliable and enjoyable cars (I love my Cobra). I almost bought a Maxima, twice actually. Before I found my 93 GT I drove a 91 Maxima SE. It just wasn’t “sporty” enough for me at the time. A few years later we were looking at a used 96 Maxima SE (for the wife). We were going to go to the dealer’s other lot to see what they had when my wife saw a 96 Explorer XLT in the corner of the lot. We always joke that we’ll have to go drive the new Maxima’s before we buy our next car (whatever that will be). My father owns a 1984 300 ZX (bought it new) and has never had a bit of trouble. When I bought the Cobra four years ago I tried to talk him into letting me have the 300 as a daily driver (so I wouldn’t put the miles on the Cobra). He wouldn’t sell.

I actually had the pleasure helping speedster with his problem on his Cobra. One thing to remember in that isolated incident is Ford took care of him in the end and helped him get a new Cobra that is absolutly perfect like mine. I can only say that my car is absolutly perfect in every way. One thing to remember about a Cobra. You are paying for what's under the hood and car more so than what's inside the cabin. Other than a few cosmetic differences, the inside of a V6 looks just like a Cobra. Things you will see different inside will be the 6-speed shifter, cobra emblems, Titanium Faced Luminesant gauges and different seats. Oh and one other thing...that BOOST gauge....Good luck with whatever decision you make...
Cheers,
