Venom II

Hi Guys,

After a very long wait I now have Venom II back in the "Toy Barn" with the Pro Charger installed and a few other go fast mods.

Pro charger is at 10 PSI boost with intercooler, 42# injectors, 80 mm MAF, BBK H pipe and Borla out back.

Last Monday had it to Pauls Performance Engineering in Cinainnati for Dyno Tuning. Car runs great and makes lots of HP. So I am happy.

Last Tuesday VenomII failed the mighty Ohio e-check and is now back in the toy barn, not on the street where it belongs. So I am sad, very sad.

Any suggestions, Help Help.

I don't know if Ohio does the "sniff" test or not. Is your BBK pipe cat'd?? If not, there's where i'd start. If it is........ hmmm..... i don't know. Could ya change belts..... and just leave the PROCHARGER out of the loop?? I don't know. Indiana doesn't have any emissions what-so-ever. Just a noise ordinance.

Well, put the cats back on and guess what. Passed with room to spare. Now I must decide to go back to the "H" pipe or move on to full length headders and high flow cats or ???

Well congrats on passing the E-check!! Personally, i'd just toss that Off Road pipe back on, and then put the cat'd one back next time you have to go get it inspected. As far as headers are concerned........ I'd go with JBA (cat4ward) headers. They seem to make a lot more power than the other shorty headers i've seen. The reason i'm recommending JBA's are because that's gonna save you some money in a few different areas. For one, your off road pipe will bolt right up, and so will the cat'd one. If you get the longtubes, you'd have to get the shorty H-pipe as well. If you wanted an off road pipe, you could get one, but then you'd have to get a cat'd one as well to pass the e-check. Swapping the H-pipes are way easier than switching headers.
