Replacing the air filter on 03 Cobra

I am replacing the air filter with one from K&N and I am wondering if anyone has done this. I took the strap that locks the cover on the filters canister off and there is no way to move the cover out of the way to get the filter out. Do I have to remove more of the system or what? Hope someone can help........Thanks
