HEY EVERYONE!
WhiteSnake asked me to post some information on our clubs car show this coming up Saturday...Space City Cruisers of of League City. I am posting a copy of the flier here.

We have kids games, HUGE 50/50 drawing, door prizes, raffle items, food and a DJ. Also, there is a VERY GENEROUS Club Participation award. (3 of them!) Be great to see alot of ya'll from the Houston area come out to our show w/ your Stangs! for the SCMC!

We as a club do an 'innerclub' show. We have our cars on the basketball court, and do not show against the people coming in. If the weather is good, we hope to see between 200-300 cars come out!

If your coming from the Houston area, take I-45 South towards Galveston. You will exit the League City Exit...(the exit after NASA RD. 1 Exit). Go left under the overpass, and go all the way down Main Street(FM 518) till you cross the RailRoad tracks at Hwy. 3. You will see the White Gazeebo to your left. That is our park where we do our Shows and Friday night cruises. There will be signs all through town pointing the way as well...

Hope to see some of ya'll out this way this weekend! Be a nice RoadTrip for ya'll...if you have any questions...feel free to ask. See ya on Saturday! Christine aka: Topless In Texas

What do you guys think about us putting together a few bucks and give a trophy at the Sat. Car Show. WE could have the trophy say South Central Cobra Club Choice or something like that? All the people who at the show can decide which car to give it to. And someone would have to prsent the trophy?
This could help bring the awareness of South Central Cobra Club.
We could also ask for the DJ at the show to announce the time and date of the South Central Cobra Club show.
So what do you think?
We would have to act quickly if we wanted to get a trophy ready for the show Sat.
I think Topless could help us get the trophy

I agree w/ Steve,
I think its a great idea! I can get the trophy ordered tomorrow if everyone is interested. We have done this alot to others peoples shows we go to. A few of us walk around and pick out a car and then we present the trophy to that person. During the awards.
We always have other clubs presenting Trophies at our show, and He's right..that would be GREAT exposure for the club. And, there would be no problem plugging ya'lls show next month!!!!
I'd be willing to pitch in as well for the trophy. They are not that expensive, but I like to get BIG ONES for when we do these things...usually run about $30-$35 or so...(if I remember right!)
If ya'll are interested, please let me know ASAP...I need a few days I think to get it made....

I just talked to Tom (Rainman) who will be one of the people that will be doing the tech. for Sat. Car Show.
The way they will break down the late models is like this:
1992 - Present with 0-4 modifications
1992 - Present with 4 or more modifications
Rainman is out of town and will not be back till Tuesday. He said when he gets back he would email me what is a modification.
Hope this helps

Topless In Tex and Steve... I think this is a GREAT idea... I will be going to the show, I know a bunch more people will be coming also. We will need to pick a meeting spot to roll in as a group as always.

As far as the trophy, that is also a badass idea.. I think we should do it, I will have no problem pitching in. Can you get us the pricing on trophies and the requirements on word count for what it can say?? :bounce:

I will also bring a ton of flyers for the car and would love it if they announced to get the word out. Remember, this is an all Ford show, and we would love to get the classic stangs to come out.

I was at ya'lls Kemah show and that kicked ass .

Everyone who is interested in going, please post here so we can get a prelimenary count (your not obligated if you post, so let us know if you are interested) and get an idea for a meeting spot...

also, people interested in pitching in for the trophy, show your interest here..:bounce: :bounce:

Hey ya'll!
I went to the trophy place today. The people I usually deal w/ sold it. Still basically the same place, but i think they've gone up a little more in price! :surprise:
The sizes that I really like, are a little bigger trophy. although not HUGE...You can spend between Low $40's to $60. The later one is a REALLY big one. I think the next smaller size is good. Its a nice trophy, and not cheesy looking...Your options are wood, or marble. Believe it or not, Marble is cheaper....w/ TT&L I can prolly get you a marble based one for around Low-mid $40's and the wooden based one around $50ish. There will be 2 tiers so if you wanted to do something on a plate on one tier that says something like:
SPACE CITY CRUISERS FALL SHOW 2002
and on the other one:
SVT COBRA MUSTANG CLUB CHOICE WINNER

or something like that....You get the idea... :yup:
there is another trophy a little smaller for around $37 w/out TT&L but, its not as nice, and it is kinda cheesy looking to me...I suggest to just throw in the extra $10 or so and get the next up, it is REALLY NICE!

So, if ya'll are interested, lemme know what you want me to do....I will order in in the morning. The place is next door to my work, and I will be able to pick it up on Friday sometime. The last one I ordered, really turned out nice. You can ask WhiteSnake...
And, its real convienient for me, so I dont mind at all! I will bring the reciept with the trophy to the show...Just give me the word, and I'll order it in the morning!

I like the idea of a trophy, and I'll throw some $$$'s in the pot. I'll suggest it says something like "SCMC South Central Chapter blah blah blah Winner."

Anyway, I'm planning on going to the show. Thursday we can figure out where we're gunna meet?

I like the way that sounds....I was thinking something like that! REALLY!!!! :bs: hehehehe.....

Yeah, ya'll can all hook up somewhere...we will allready be there at the crack of dawn! We have to get our cars set up before we start judging... if you like, you can call me or Steve when you're getting close, and we can keep an eye out for ya..If we know how many there are, if you dont come too late, we'll try really hard to keep everyone together!
So...what do you think Steve, think that'll be possible??? If the weather is good, its gonna fill up fast!

As far as the trophy goes, if I dont hear anything one way or the other from ya'll before I leave to take my kid to school, and go to work(around 7:55 or so), I'll be home for lunch usually about 1-1:30 or so and check the boards. Or if you want, feel free to call my cell and let me know what you want me to do. My # is 832-876-6960. If I dont answer, I'm prolly w/ a client...just leave me a voice mail. OK?

Hey, I will be showing the Pace car Saturday, unless something happens between now & then. The trophy sounds good to me.
I can meet Sherri on 45N and travel through town and meet Edmond. Need to get there early for a good spot and a T-shirt. Bring water, it's gonna be hot, if it doesn't rain. No kidding. :) .

Evilcartman, might as well show the Cobra and get a good parking spot, I'm sure people would love to see a 03 cobra in person, specially that color (which is my favorite). Good reason to clean it really good.

The trophy is in the making. Should run about $45.00. Christine says it looks good. Hope it gives the SCC the much needed exposure.

Keith, you gotta show with us. Then we can park all the snakes in a row and look impressive. Steve and Christine will be saving us a big spot. There should be at least 7 Cobras. We can pick you up with the caravan when we hit your spot on I 45 :)

Hey guys..
Lucky that I'm next door to the trophy place at work! :D Decided on one that is not too too big, its a GOOD size, but it will look good. The guy cut me a deal...The one I originally wanted was gonna run about $50 or more. After talking to Sherri, I decided I'd downsize it a bit, but it will still be done really nice. I think were looking at about $34. Not sure if thats TT&L, but if not, it should not be too much more than that. I will pick it up Friday evening.
This is a good idea what ya'll are doing... The host clubs LOVE when other clubs come in and want to present "thier Choice" at the shows! We always enjoy to see other clubs do it at our show! Some of your bigger clubs do this alot. When we as SSC do it at others' shows, we like to make the trophy really special. It is really good exposure for the club, and the people really appreciate it...

As far as the parking goes...The best bet would be to just try to get there as close to opening as possible. REG starts at 8 a.m. We usually have a few 'early birds' but its a pretty big lot. If you can be there before 9a.m., I think that would help. And, like I said, if ya'll wanna call either Steve, or myself when you are getting real close to the park, we will be able to heard everyone into a central position together. I dont know that we can actually 'rope off' any areas....But, we would definetely like to keep ya'll together.... I know ya'll got quite a drive....When we do shows that are an hour or more away...we try to leave to get us there w/in about 30 minutes after registration starts. Specially if it is a bigger club, or a bigger show...and if the weather is really good...

Looking forward to meeting ya'll...I actually think I have seen quite a few of ya'll at different things over the past few months..Just didn't know it.
Again, if ya'll have any questions...please dont hesitate to ask.
Cya on Saturday morning!!!!!!!! TNT

I would have really liked to have gone. Last weekend a rock shattered a fog light. I have removed what was left and now I'm the one eyed willy. I can't show the car the way it is. It looks bad with the big extra hole. I contacted the detailer and they don't even have one in the book available. All the fog lights being built are being installed in the new cars.

My father in-law has a red '03. Maybe I can borrow his fog light. I will let you know.

I'm at 45 south and the belt. I recommend a meetin place of AMC 30 Gulfpoint on the south side of the building between Krogers and Outback steakhouse. The parking lot is normally empty and it is easy to find. The location is right at 45 and the belt. When traveling south bound, exit Fuqua/belt8 (not the toll) and stay on the feeder until you see AMC on the right side. Let me know if that sounds good and what time.

Topless In Tex
08-29-2002, 12:09 AM
The meeting place at the AMC is about a 20-25 minute drive from where we are! (the show) That is actually about 10-15 minutes from WhiteSnakes house...You will be on the DOWN side of your trip in!!!!!!! You guys up north will have done most of your LOOOONG drive! ;)

Evilcartman!!! LOL!!!! I was gonna suggest you buy some black "felt" and make an EYEPATCH!!!!! NOONE would have ever known! Would have looked 'EVIL'....hehehehhehe....
but, I'm glad ya got it fixed! :D

Ya'll dont worry about registering...You'll register when you get there...I have some info that I talked to Sherri about that I will post for you. Steve is our 'head judge' and has written up a 'guideline' as to what we look for. We are gonna give them out as you register, but i'm gonna post it here for you now so you can look at it cuz I know that alot of you are new to showing, and I think it will help ya out. We are not really picky...we just like'em clean! :p thats all!

Also...I dont think most of you are aware of this...but Rainman(Tom Canfield- A/C Cobra) our VERY CLOSE and dear friend and running buddy w/ me and Steve never made it home from his trip this week. He got T-boned in his Fox Body in Oklamhoma. He is still in ICU....He is our head Tech man as well for the show.
Before he went to the hospital, he managed to spit out Steves cell phone # and told someone to call him that he will not make the show!
His cousin is in Tulsa, whom I have met , and Tom is in Saint Johns in Tulsa. He has a a collapsed lung, broken arm, broken ribs, bruised back, has a tube in his chest, lacerations to his shoulder, and is in ICU because hes having a hard time breathing due to the pain of his injuries, he cannot cough up the fluids and blood to get them up.
Steve has been in contact w/ his cousin Bob. But Steve had to go to Louisianna for work today, and i"m not sure if he will be back tomorrow or what, so I have been keeping in touch w/ Bob. He is hopefully gonna be out of ICU tomorrow afternoon. Hes not expecting him to be released till next week sometime. He is gonna call me as soon as he finds out if he gets out of ICU...
Needless to say, this has put a very somber mood on our show.
It killing me to not be able to call, but obviously when they are in ICU, they cant talk. Steve talked to him for just a few seconds last night when he was out of ICU for a short time, and it just was not good. I"m hoping that he will be in a room sometime tomorrow so I can call him.
I'm gonna pick up Toms dog tomorrow and keep him here w/ me till he gets back to Texas. Dont know when that will be yet...I should know more hopefully in the next day or so, and HOPEFULLY by the show Saturday, it will be some good news and we will have an idea when to expect him back...Steve and some other friends will be going to his house Sunday to do his yard for him. I'll prolly take the dog there to hang out at home while they are there.
He had 3 hip surgeries over the past many years and the one last year FINALLY worked! He was real excited to be going to Whichita Falls last weekend to ride in a 100 mile bicycle race. He was feeling great, and happy about his ride! He also got hit a couple of months ago by a car while on his motorcycle, but had minor injuries.
SOOOOOOOOO.......... we've had an extremely LONG and EMOTIONAL 2 days...today was a toughy. I had about an hour and a half sleep last night. But, Toms a fighter...he bounces back w/ a vengence. We are hoping to get someone to do video of the show and we are gonna do a 'well wishes' thing for him so we can give it to him...

I just wanted to let ya'll know what's going on. I'm dedicating the show to Tom...And nothing would make me HAPPIER (ALL OF US) then to see a lot full of Cobras!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will post the guide sheet for Steve, I think I have one in my car. Looking forward to seeing all of ya'll, and I KNOW you will have a GREAT TIME! Keep Tom in ya'lls prayers...
See ya on Saturday bright and early!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :burnout:

His lung is inflated again. He said hes very sore but he sounded in good spirits. The Fox Body is wasted. Not sure yet how/when he will be home. Just to fill ya in...

I tried to post the guide lines for the judging. but the file was too damn big! I have to load my trashy looking car....No rearview mirror, and my polishing looks terrible. Had not time to do it! But, WTF? One of those things...
The trophy is BADASS! I think ya'll will be pleased. Did ya'll get trophies yet for your show? If not, they are wanting to work with us.....lemme know if your interested. He wants to deal.... Just a thought.
Toms dog is tearing up my house! Shes' a cutie, but has no manners!
Looking forward to seeing all of ya'll cruise in tomorrow at the show! That will be TOO COOL! Call when your close.
We will prolly end up going to Pasadenas cruise night tomorrow night if ya'll feel like hanging around for a while..You'd like it. Its about 5 minutes from WhiteSnakes house. Something to think about~!

Still packing my car. Just wanted to let ya'll know....evidently, we found out at our meeting tonight that our park is gonna be SWARMING w/ media! They are doing news stories about the new Train that will run to Galveston! Just by chance, that line is right at our park!! They will most likely be filming from the park, dead in the middle of the show sometime tomorrow before 5...We
ve rounded up all the Club Banners and Sponsor banners to circle the park...(good for a plug!)
So, if your not careful, you MIGHT just find yourself in the news somewhere....I think its cool they decided to do it on the day we have our show...It will be awesome and great exposure for Space City Cruisers!

I just got back from the meeting and the filling of goodie bags with the the SCC.
While we were there we had achance to see the club patisapation throphy that they will give away Sat. This thropy is at least six feet tall!
I know I want to see the Cobra Club to take this one home!!!!!!!!
Anybody who can come out Sat. and support the Cobra Club please do.You do not have to have a Cobra to help support, all you have to do is when you register is to say you are with the Cobra Club.
We need all of your support. There are older clubs that will be there with a lot of cars. We need you guys!
I know we can do it !!!!
See you guys at the show and bring those Lightings and be counted.

If you keep up with this thread you can see that CC or Topless in Texas as you guys know her has went way out of her way getting a throphy for the Cobra Club to give at the show Sat.
Thank you CC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are lucky enough to know her she is one hell of a car person and a good friend.
