Really don't know if anyone can help on this one, it is kinda odd, but here goes. I'm looking for the part number, hell even the part itself, of the top radio slot delete pocket. Here's the story, when I purchased my new head unit, I decided I wanted to be different and sneaky, :D, by throwing it in the bottom slot, since it has the flip face and looks like the delete plate from the 95 R when the power is off. I figured I'd want to get some use out of the top slot, so I ordered the bottom pocket in hopes that it would fit; it doesn't. After trimming and filing edges, still couldn't get the fit, and I've got some bowing going on now. :( Recently saw the 00 R for the first time and low and behold there it was. :) Sorry for the long story, and I don't want anyone to go tear up their dash for something as petty as this, but I was hoping someone might know a little sumthin'. :)

Give Jim at PPI a call. He carries a lot of stuff like that or he might have an idea where you can get it. I know he carries a lot of the '93 and '95 R parts so he might have this too.

No luck for me, gave Jim a call, they used to carry it but sold out soon after they got them. It was a fabricated piece and wasn't too cost effective to keep around, which I completely understand, since I think I'm the only wierd guy to try this. :) Hrm.. maybe I'll have to see if a wrecked one shows up somewhere or a racing team who ditched most of the interior all together has one lying around. :D IF anyone else has any insight, I'm all ears.

I'll look at mine and see if there are any #s on it.....although I doubt ford kept any extras........you may end up fabricating something (ie: a gage or switch panel, ala andy m)

Let me check with my installer to see if he still has the one which came out of my R??? He took it out when he did my custom gauge and switch panels.
I will check with him today to see if he still has it, and if so, I would be happy to send it to you. I have no further use for it.

Wow, that would be cool if he still had it. I'd pay for that and shipping and I'd be most appreciative. :D
I did measure the opening to get the panel and some gauges but the opening just seemed too small. 2.5" opening and 2 1/16" guage just didn't leave too much room; panel might crack or be brittle IMO. If your installer doesn't have that part around, may I ask how you got them to fit, or maybe see a pic? I don't like to steal ideas but that is a good one. :D

I checked with him and he did in fact toss the stuff in the trash. He asked if I needed it and I told him no.
As for the panel he made for my gauges?, he just used some sort of thin cardboard/pressboard looking material for this. He trimmed it to fit the opening and once he wrapped it with the black covering, it now fits snugly inside the opening and is easy to pull in and out, but doesn't just fall out without a little easy pry with a small screw driver. Then he cut the three holes to fit my Autometer gauges into the openings, again making sure they fit snugly into the holes once the black wrap material was glued on. It looks really good and is very functional.
Here is a pic of what it looks like once done.. As you can see, it looks very factory looking!! :)

Wow, that does look nice.. functional too. :) I'm actually surprised that an aftermarket company hasn't made anything like that for the 94-up mustangs. Here is what I'm dealing with for the moment. It's pretty much "placed in there as you can see the tabs at the top as well as the bow at the bottom. It shifts up and down and comes out pretty easy.

There may have been a little bit of confusion as to the part that you needed when you called. We do indeed stock all the '93, '95 and '00 "R" model radio and CD delete plates and trays. You can order on-line or call in your order to receive your club discount.
