The show went great Josh!!! Only 46 cars/trucks, but we had a great time. We learned a LOT on this one!!! The rain came about 11:30, just as we were sending out the judges, but they hacked it through the rain and got the job done. I know we could have gotten at least 60 if the chance of rain today wasn't 40%!!!!!! Boy I'm sure the Carolinas are livin' it up now that they won the contest ;) , but I'm positive we could have had more.

Heck, for a first show, sounds pretty good to me, when you figure rain probably would scare a lot of people away.

So Sherri, did your Taurus get any awards :p

Andy the link worked..

All is well, even with the rain. The show was a sucess, IMHO. I don't have the exact count, but there were 2 Lightnings, 10-12 classics, app 10 GT's, 1 Cobra\Saleen, 3 or so Saleen GT's (1 S351), 2 00 R's and a bunch of Cobras of various year models, 1 93, 2 94's ect. Joe Myers did a fantastic job hosting the show, food, snowcones, water, sodas & trophies. Behind the scenes it was a little caotic at times, but with the help of everybody, it went extremely well. Thanks to the girls that helped with the sign in and counting of the judging sheets. They were a huge asset. It was a learning experience to say the least, and I was not involved with a lot of the things that went on.
It only get better. :bounce:
Glad we at least made a good showing for the final count, but with the weather saying 40-50% chance of rain, depending on what channel you watched, I think the South Central group did well.
Congrats to all the winners.

yup, we did great inspite of the rain.... like Darrell said, it got hectic a couple of times behind the scenes, but we did a great job keeping it "behind the scenes"

Sorry I did not snap more pics... I was busy assisting with parking duties and could not make time to snap more of them.

Some things I/we learned:

1) pics - next year we need to designate someone in the group as our official picture taker. This person will have NO other duties besides taking pics.

2) weather - we need to assign someone to pray to the "Weather Gods" so we have good weather next time! ;-)

3) fold out chair - I need to get me one of those nifty soft fold out chairs to rest my feet every now and then!

4) prep - I need to come better prepared next time. I did not even have "el-cheapo" picture frames for my Cobra R documents. Shame on me. But, oh well, it was my first ever car show.

5) music - We need to bring along a large jam box next time to play some music. We could have a few CD's with a mix of new and oldies music. I think it would set the mood.

I would like to sincerely thank my good friend Richard "Pinky" Hammond and Joe Meyers Ford for their support on this. I would encourage our members and friends and family who are in the market for a new Ford vehicle to keep Joe Meyers Ford in mind. It would be a great way to show our appreciation to them for their wonderful generosity in support of our club and in particular, this car show.

I think in spite of Mother Nature's temper tantrum, all went well. Most seemed happy and satisfied. I do believe we would have had a lot more cars had we had Mother's co-operation. We signed up 3 new members and had several who decided not to enter the show because of the threatening skies. All in all, it was GOOD :-)

I agree!!!!!!
There was a GREAT turnout despite the crappy weather. I was very impressed w/ the calliber of Stangs out there! Everything seemed to go well...Iknow things get kinda crazy behing the scenes..and each time you work out more 'bugs'.
I had my camera, I"m just mad at myself for not taking any pics. But by the time I got the car cleaned up it was not long after it started to rain! :(
We took the 'scenic route' on the way in! LOL....(WhiteSnake, just kiddin' w/ ya hon!) ;) Actually, it was a nice drive in, and I did have to stop and get some coffee....
I really enjoyed meeting more of ya'll and hope to meet more that I havent met yet! Ya'll are a great group of peeps.....Be looking forward to the next show!
cya all soon!
:banana:TNT:banana:

I had a smaller Boom Box w/ me! You shouldve asked, I didn't use it! :)

BTW: did anyone get any shots of our cars out there??????:bump:

Great Job All! I knew you could do it! Ready or not, you pulled it off and can apply what you learned this year for next year. Sounds like you had more modern muscle then anything, which is great! Congrats on a job well done and getting three new members. Can't wait to hear who won what. ;)

Y'all are FANTASTIC! :bounce:

With the fact that it rained and all...the show went great. I enjoyed meeting new people and of course as always enjoy spending time with my pals. You all did a great job on your first show. Thanks to Joe Myers Ford for their support! Congrats to all the winners. The pics look great, as always...I forgot my camera. I think I need to keep one in the L.

The show was great. The rain sucked, but that is part of the game. At least everyone seemed to have a good time, and no one was squalling that their garage queen was getting wet !

I was going to try and get my R ready to show, but it was filthy, and I did not get a chance to wash the snake that weekend.

All in all though, it was a well run event ! My compliments to the crew and all of the support cast.

I am not planning on neglecting the R. Unless you count driving the heck out of it...It has over 9700 miles, and I got it with 490mi. It did sit in storage for about 4 months too.

The Lambo along with a Ferarri 360 Modeno/Converted to an F355 by Ferarri were used in the new Bond movie, Die Another Day, and just came off the set. I sold the Ferarri to a friend and that will pay for the duties, shipping, and some of the resto work for the Lambo. The Ferarri needed an engine and transmisson, so we are thinking about trying to adapt a 347 SBF and a TKO to the trasfercase of the Ferarri. The Lambo needs some minor TLC, and also needs to have the engine re-installed into the bay, but other than that, it is good to go. According to my insurance agent, I will be limited to around 2500 miles a year on the car, and I actually hope to try and spin it into a 97 or later Diablo. With the pedigee, and documentation from EON Productions, I figure I can get enough to get the newer Diablo, and leave enough left over to restore my house fund. We'll just have to see.

The next obvious question is how did I get the car? A friend works in special effects and has done the last 10 or so Bond movies, Aliens, Harry Potter 1,2,3,4(3&4 to go into production in a month). He has gotten me a few things off the last 2 Potter movies, including a couple brooms, Harry's training broom and a Nimbus 2001. The Nimbus 2001 is used in HP2 also coming out this fall.

I got the blessing from DOT today to ship the car in, so I have to go over, finalize all the paperwork, and get the beasts over here. It may be here in a month or so. I can't wait for my early Christmas present ... hehehehehe...

And No, I don't plan on neglecting the R. heheheh

don,

can we trade jobs....

man... you have to let me see them "beasts" when you get them in....

also... nice collection you got form the HP movies... if there is some way to prove their authenticity.. some rich kid would pay ALOT of money for those..
