Lisa, I'm pretty sure I sent mine in several months ago. If not, let me know. I do plan to be there, with a two-wheel drive car.

I'm planning on being there as well this time around, and will be able to run since I'm bringing the hatchback. I will run it as long as it's ready and back together in time for the drag day :D
Beware of the car that sounds like a four banger at idle... but screams like a banshee at full whail ;) ;)

Josh...didn't you just get your car back from a long trip to the shop for something like this? Man, I am sorry to hear that it is treating you this way! :( Maybe it is time to talk to the folks over at True Blue? BD certainly has good things to say about them.

Yes Ken, i just got my car back from a full rebuild. Everything. I did give True Blue a call, and they said that they usually just take your motor as a core, and replace it with another that has been built up. They said that they'd have to take it apart, check everything out, and put it back together for an estimated $3500. I just can't afford that. They were extremely professional and very knowledgable. Randy said it seemed like it's probably a failure of the oil pump gears. He doesn't think that i messed anything up besides a bearing. He still recommends taking it all the way apart to check it out and make sure everything is good though. I can't afford that. It's gonna take me a minimum of 6 months before i can muster that kind of money. Most likely........ about 8-10 months.

I would call my builder and have a long chat with him. Not being a butt or anything, just explaining, with emphisis, that you would expect an engine that you've just spent big bucks for to run longer than 1100 miles or so! See if there is anything they will do for you. I hate it that your car is treating you this way! Maybe True Blue could work out something with you for time payments or something, seeing as how you're defending the nation and all?

I got ahold of my builder about an hour ago. He said he'll stand by his work. So that's good news. But however comma i'm going to tear it apart myself. As far as he's concerned, everything was picture perfect with the motor. Everything was done right by the numbers. The crank was turned -10, and the bearings were +10. (checked when installed). The ring clearances are perfect, compression was perfect, leak down checked good. The car showed steady, oil pressure on a direct guage for a 10 minute, 1500 rpm idle period. Everything was then checked for leaks, fluids were checked. And the first test drive was then done. Everything was torqued down to the specified parameters. After the initial test drive, the oil was changed and inspected. Everything was perfect. After the oil change, the car was then re-serviced with oil, and then on another 10 minute 1500 rpm idle period. Checked for leaks, and everything was working as advertised. Then, he put a total of about 100 miles on it. Everything was perfect, i flew home, and vwaa lahh..... the car is in my hands. He said that if the problem is traced to an error in his work (example improper torque on the main studs etc.) he'll take the car back, and it won't cost me anything. But, he 100% sure it's right. He also said that he can't put a warranty on the parts i bought. (From SHM: Forged rotating assembly, FRPP High Volume Oil pump etc etc.) Which i understand completely. That's something that I can't hold him accountable for. True Blue says that it sounds like i broke the Oil pump gears........ Which, if that's the case..... then i'm definately screwed. Randy also said that it's unlikely that i caused any real damage to the motor. Oil pressure never fell below 8psi... and i shut it off right away. **All oil pressure readings came from Autometer Electric Oil Pressure guage** The factory gauge barely moved. I think the factory one fell down to about "OR" range in NORMAL. (Usually on the "A"). I'm going to tear this motor apart myself, and see what i can find out.

Smashed,
THAT REALLY SUCKS! Randy and the crew at True Blue are good people and can be trusted to do what is right. They put a new Oil Pump in my car after rebuilding the engine. Thomas Morran had a similar problem with his engine after having it rebuilt by SHM. I don't think Thomas replaced his oil pump though. SORRY to hear your without your Snake again! I REALLY FEEL YOUR PAIN!! Keep your head up!

I'm positive that Randy up there will set me straight. The only problem is... is that i'm not even close to having that kinda money to go back through this motor. I just spent all my life savings on getting this car, supercharging it, then blowing it up, and going back through the thing.
