too frickin cool. carlton (aka 93Cobra-R) dynoed his 03 cobra today in nashville.
mods:
Lightning pulley
K&N filter
Prototype Holley (hooker) longtubes w/OR x pipe
Borla catback exhaust

we were crossing our fingers for 450 rwhp, got 460, yeehaw!
the damn thing sounds absolutely awesome, and revs so fast. for those of you that were at road atlanta 2001, very very reminicent of the Ferrari race cars that were there. AWESOME!
don't remember the torque, over 500 tho i believe. carlton will chime in here....
neat thing was, the A/F curve never leaned out past 12.6:1 which is just about right.

Hey Steve, sorry, looks like I've been a bit tardy on the board! Yea, the 500 tq was on the first run that I screwed up...since I got on the gas before I gave the signal to Chris to start...so the computer got a bit confused.

Here's some pics of the car...

That is sweet!!! I love the way the long tubes look in that side shot.

Tony, you'll need more than that to whoop a Focus! :D But, if you're serious about getting one, there's 2 of them at Bob Bennett Ford in Columbia right now. A Mineral Grey Coupe and a Black 'vert...

Can't do Bob Bennett, they didn't want to work with us. :( I'll go with a dealership that has our best interest in mind.

tom, clearance on those headers is awesome also. i'm willing to bet a k-member brace will clear with either the griggs or MM K-member in place (you'd have to see it in person).

carlton, should i post that link to eric's video of you and the ZO-6? LOL

Wow
I've seen dyno runs of stock 03 Cobra's pulling 381 hp at the wheels so SVT's advertised 390 is a load of BS. What I don't understand though is how you (Carlton) manage to get what equates to 540 hp at the crank with a simple exhaust and pulley swap. How much boost does it run stock and how much boost does the lightening pulley add? Either way that kicks ass, when do you plan on taking it to the strip? And does anyone have any mpeg's of the new cobra in action? Unfortunately this link shows one getting it's ass beat by a camaro on steroids.... the hissing sound leans my thinking towards NOS.

I think it is 6 lbs of boost jumped up to 14 lbs??

first off, video. they're dark, and i *ahem* don't know any of these people (looking in the air whistling LOL)

and tony, i think it was 14....

Steve, the stock boost is either 6 or 8 lbs and when you put the Lightning pulley on it, it jumps to 14 lbs. Slap on an OR pipe and a cold air kit and can you say over 500 hp at the flywheel? :)

yup tony, i can. i was there when he dyno'd that monster!

460 RWHP add drivetrain loss......at least 520 at the flywheel with simple mods

On the dyno? That's pushing it for a boost A/F ratio. Once the car is actually on the road and having to move the weight of the car (vs. spinning the dyno rollers) the A/F is going to jump up about .5 putting the car at a 13.1:1 A/F which I'd be a bit uncomfortable with.

When dyno'ing you want to hit at least .5 below your target A/F ratio to allow for the change in road A/F vs. dyno A/F.

Great numbers though.......those '03s are pretty darn impressive!!

Actually, Ford claims the stock boost is 7.5. I have also seen it posted at 8 psi. The stock Lighting pulley (2.93) adds 3-3.5 PSI. I'm seeing about 11 on the gauge, even though it is not a real accurate gauge. I think that the aftermarket 2.80 pulley can give you up to 13-14 psi in cold weather. 2.80 is the smallest you can go due to the snout clearances. A lower pulley would be the alternative to getting even more boost.
