Just wondering where this cruise stands. Haven't heard or seen anything about it lately. Is it still being planned or has it been dropped?

Funny you should ask?.. Mike and I were just discussing this the other day. We just need to nail down a weekend to do it.

I personally can't make it till probably in December due to a heavy schedule of personal, family, and work commitments in October and November. But if you guys want to do it sooner than that, let me know?... I have the info. from my last Hill Country Drive that I did with my BMW friends.

December would NOT be a good time for me. Too much happening due to the impending arrival of the jolly, old man :)

maybe this should be pushed back into 03 since there is so many conflicting schedules...

I was just in Austin last week and stayed at the Radisson.... it had a nice parking garage building, and was 2 blocks south of 6th street and RIGHT on the bat bridge... I didn't get to see the bats which pissed me off... so I definitely have to see them when I go back..

I think it was like $125 a night, but since its the Radisson, maybe Nina can hook all of us up :p :D

:bounce: Actually, you've got a good point on this?... I would certainly vote to push it forward into next year?? maybe around the end of January or into Feb./March? this will depend primarily on the weather at that time of course?? it can get messy in the Hill Country in the winter some times???

Anyone else have any suggestions/thoughts on this?

Actually, a spring time cruise would be great. Sure those with verts woud love it, even you guys with R's. I just wanted to know where the club was on this. Thought maybe it was on hiatus. I do have vacation scheduled for March 10-14, so you know what vote on!

Spring time (or at least an early warm spell) would be great. Window/top down weather would be perfect.

Year end is always very tied up with Thanksgiving, Christmas, work, etc...

Spring would be awesome for us topless Cobra pilots!!!!!

Sounds good to me... so, it seems most folks would like to postpone till about March time frame, right?? That would also be a good time for me as it would not be really hot yet, so I don't "cook" inside the R with no A/C!!! :(

We probably should try to at least have a tentative date picked out as soon as possible, just for planning purposes. Or, if this is too early for most folks to schedule, we can put off scheduling it until about January time frame?

The earlier we plan a date the easier it will be, I think. That would give everyone plenty of time schedule things. I think we should pick a date and stick to it, the only way this will work. If we wait til Jan or Feb we'll have to keep postponing cuz someone won't be able to make it. We have to stick to a date. With that I vote for March 8,9 or 15,16. What do you guys think?;)

I totally agree with David. I vote for the 8, 9th and use the 15, 16-6th as the rain date.

March 8-9 sounds good to me too. Although it is way out there and something may interfere and keep me from going, I agree with the rest of you that we should pick a date and begin planning it now instead of later. There will always be some folks who cannot make an event, no matter how many times you postpone.

I will get the map of the route we took when I last did the drive and will post it here as soon as possible. Then, if we want to alter the drive route for whatever reason, we have plenty of time to do so now rather than later.

Also, those who do not already have a Talkabout (or equivalent two way radio), you have plenty of time to save your nickels and buy one before the drive.. or maybe Santa will bring you one? ;) :)

Talkabouts are the way to go!!! Yep, let's start planning this thing now so we have plenty of time for whatever comes up and everyone has plenty of time to mark their calendars and try to plan around it if possible. The more, the merrier.

Those dates may not work in March. SCMC's planning to have a open track day in S.Carolina that Joe, Andy, and maybe me will go to. I'll speak to Tony(or he may read this) to see if and when it's gonna be. I'll let everyone know ASAP. Thanks.

Mike,

Keep us posted on the Carolina track event situation. By the way, it looks like a very nice track and should be some big time fun?!! Check it out.... If scheduling permits, I would love to go to this one?!!

Hey guys! I'm gonna pull my vote out and let you guys pick the date. Sadly, we have decided to sell the Cobra:( Not sure if it will still be in my possesion in March. We plan on getting a new one after we get into the house in Feb or March. :D I just hope the umors are true about a 10th ann. edition for the Cobra, cuz I'll put a deposit down on one.:D Until we sell it, I'll keep trying to make the meets.
