Finally getting around to installing gears in my car. What I want to know is if anybody knows of a good place in the Houston area to have it done at, preferably one that won't break the bank? I remember someone telling me of a shop in Tomball that does good work, but I can't recall the name.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Try Choice Auto, they are off of 1960. Ask for Mike. They did the install on my cousins GT, did a great job. My cousin says no vibe at high speeds, no problems what-so-ever. Hes had them in for about 2 to 3 weeks so far. I plan to go to them whenever I get around to getting gears. They charged my cousin about $250-$300, I think. I asked him about my Cobra and he said that they would more than likely be able to do the install for about $350-$400 or so, he would have to see what all is involved to be sure on a price. Their telephone number is 281-580-8762

The price for a gears change really depends on whether or not your car has the IRS or not. My 99 Cobra was expensive to change from the 3.27 to 3.55, but still worth it.
Yes, more than $400, less than $800.

Battle Ground Racing will install them for pretty cheap. Find them on www.fordpower.net , they've done some good work for the Houston group at a resonable price. They're on the south side of Houston though, not sure if that makes a difference to ya or not. Hope this helps. What's the gears going in and what kind you installing. Good to have you aboard Jeremy.

Thanks all; I will check out those places.
Mike, the gears are Ford Motorsport 3.73s. I know 3.73 will be laughed at by many, but that's all I am wanting to put in right now. Maybe if I actually start going to the track, I will put something a little steeper in.

That I was. It was when we were planning the big car show at Joe Myers.

WOW, my bad Jeremy. Been hectic remembering names lately. Good to see you've found us on here, or maybe you've been lurking all this time. ;) Let me know where you go and how the install went, I may get some 4.10's for $50, then I may install them myself with a friend if he feels confident in doing it. Hope to see ya out again man.
