(he's getting pickier than I am -
let's give him some ideas!)

love you Tim !! and I'm glad you love your car.....

ok Bonny, here they are again... this is the "stalker" hood from cervini's

spittincobra01
12-30-2002, 03:30 PM
it has functional dual hood scoops, with pollished alluminum grilles

spittincobra01
12-30-2002, 03:33 PM
the scoops actually keep the engine cooler on hot days and long trips. crevini's sells a "ram air" kit to go with the hood, but I opted not to get it as I plan on a CAI and s/c someday. This pic was taken by Mike at Road Atlanta in April of 2002

I do get ALOT of compliments on the hood/car, it totally changed the appearance of the front of the car.... especailly as I feel the hoods on the 99/01 cobras was week (not starting a flame). here is one more from RA

your car looks awesome on the track too!!!

Thanks Bonny, I can't wait till I can take it back out of the garage.... and on to the track again. My wife and I are planning on the Lowes speed way event on labor day weekend for my "distance" event.... and I'll be doing 5-6 auto crosses up here, and of course NHIS, Lime Rock, and Watkins Glen all at least once this year!

YA WHAT HE SAID!! :D :D Your car is the reason I went looking for an aftermarket hood. I don't want to make my scoops functional as it will create lift on the front of the car and at the speeds I will be going any lift is a BAD thing! :D ;)

Greg, it does have a slight up draft feel at speeds of 140+, but I have block off plates that I had made up out of allum. to put in on track days to remidy that issue... it cost me 25 bucks to make the plates and they replace the grilles with 2 screws on each side to hold them in place.

and thanks Greg and Lisa on the compliments! it is always good to hear! ;) ;)

You can add the 03's to that list also.

I agree. Saw Matt's car at RA last year and that hood looks great.

Matt and BD, I like the look of the bug shredders in the inserts of the hood. How do you keep the engine compartment clean? Is a bug & tar remover necessary?

BD, will they help disseminate the excess water from the engine compartment during diving expeditions?

:D

Matt, great looking car! What kind of spoiler do you have on it?

thank you, and it is the stock 01 rear spoiler.... I've actually been thinking of moving it back about an inch.

Dave, no bug and tar cleaner needed. I keep it clean all the time so I do not get a build up of bug gutts.... yummy thought! ;)
it just takes car wash soap and a little elbow grease.:D there is no inner hood liner, it is a smooth painted surface that I wax when I do the outside which helps eliminate the mess, as for the engine.... nothing but simple green and a rinse with the garden hose for that.:D

were thinking about going with the kit Matt --

one supercharged car in this family is enough!!

do you know if it will increase the h.p.?
were not planning on driving over 100 mph very often -
so were not too worried about the lift. If some day Tim ends up wanting to drive faster speeds - he can do some aftermarket ground effects ..... he likes the stalker bumper!!

Dave, the exhaust still isn't finished. They have a second hole to plug in the headers. It had two collectors in the headers I'm wondering if you heard the exhaust after the second set was plugged? PLUS I didn't do it for the sound I did it for the extra RWHP!! I WILL now have more than you! ;) :D :p :p :p

Bonny, check out the web site www.cervinis.com they say it adds hp but I don't remember how much. if you get it, let me know how well it works and if it remidies the up draft at speed, as I may go that route if it is worth it :D

I did and I did....

order it...

they do not have the kit yet - but we are figuring that we may be able to "design" our own for it - or wait til spring and order it when it comes out. Maybe if we order it together we can get a 10% discount from them....

Also, as far as the "lift" we will probably make some inserts to place there for those moments that we will take it at speeds over 110 ...

as far as bugs - (see Daves post above)....
around here we only have them at night and so far I haven't had one bug in the inserts in Triggers cowl inserts... But if we did take it out when it was a bad "BUG" night ... he he
we could place the temporary inserts in there.

Or, then again, if we come down south
- well-
thats where all the bugs BEE.... so we will figure it out.... right?
right!

see you in 2003 -
hope all is well with all of you and your families..

enjoy!

The Caddy Body Shop by my house. They have worked on several other vehicles in our family and always done a great job...SO I figured if they are good enough for Caddylacs then they should be barely competent to work on my Ford!! :D ;)

spittincobra01
01-08-2003, 06:33 PM
I used a local shop that has done alot of work for me in the past, and the manager is a BIG motor head who LOVES my car! He did an awesome job matching the stock finish! It is a place in NH called Manchester Body and Fender. Just make sure the body shop you go to follows the directions sent with the hood and "pops" it before they prime/paint it. Popping is putting the hood into the spray booth at 100 degrees for a specific ammount of time (I think it was like 20 mins)...(it tells you on the directions sheet). If they do not pop it BEFORE they prime or paint, you could have problems with the finish peeling/bubbles under the paint. I hope you two like the way it looks on Tim's car as much as I like it on mine!! :D :D   :D :D   :D :D

and the mom thing was just playin around.... kind of a play on words... you know.... like putting words together that just don't belong that way.... you know, like COMMON SENSE.... they just don't belong together. after all, it is one of the least common things around:p
one more thing, between you and me, I get along with you better than I do my mom:D  she STILL tries to tell me what to or not to do and I haven't lived in her house since I was 18.... my god, that was a few days shy of 12 years ago! boy I'm gettin old :p :p :p but I'm still not NEARLY as old as BIG DADDY!! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :D :D :D

========

Oh my gosh Matt -
we must be distantly related -- er, maybe I'm adopted ,
er, maybe your adopted...

but anyway --
we must be brother / sister

I have the same problem with my Mom ..
this year was the worse ever....

you know what I hate the worse? When she calls and leaves a demanding message on my answering machine. My sisters all do the same thing to me.

This past year - I put a stop to that....

If they have a "demand" they have to go to Tim first --
you know whats funny?

It's been awful quiet lately..... :doubt:

Yup - I was right, they were walking all over me....

NO MORE !!!!!!

I love them, but enuf is enuf....

um,
well,

we is having some work done there...

Tim was going to do allot of it himself,
but he just doesn't have the time right now. Our company is really picking up and we are aiming in the direction of getting a lift for our shop.

With as many cars as we have right now, we just can't manuever quite as easily getting these cars moved around.... Trigger is going to get scratched and I want her left alone...

The only thing I'll say about BD's Cobra and mine is that he has more stuff on his car than I do. And, his garage is faster than mine. He lives at a higher elevation than I do. His son smokes more than mine. I'm older than he is. He weighs more than I do.
I have more kids than he does, and more grandchildren. What else............

:doubt:

well, if it is a matter of a faster garage,
can I chime in?

well, at least until the 01 is sold (deposit is down on it)..... we have
approximately
1000 hp in the garage,
and approximately 1200 hp sitting on the driveway....

so

that makes a total of 2200 hp .....
 :jawdrop:
