do the 2001 cobra's have the t45 or the tremec 3650 tranny? I ask because I went to a pro 5.0 shop and was looking at the pro 5.0 shifter for my car but the guy insisted I have the tremec 3650 and not the t45. I didn't know for sure, but assumed it has the t45. does anyone know? thanks

T45 has a drain plug on the side of the trans.
3650 has a drain plug on the bottom of the trans.

Didn't some of the early cobra's come with T45's, or was it only the early GT's?

My 01 (#1913) has a 3650.

From what I've heard about the t-45's yes that's a good thing!! :D Brian I think all Cobra's in '01 got the 3650 mine is like #517 so if any did get the t-45 it would have had to be VERY early in the run!! :D ;)

I do not know what the 99's have for a tranny, but I did call svt and they told me all 2001's have the tremec 3650. I installed the pro 5.0 shifter today and what a difference! I haven't been able to road test it yet, but practice shifting in the garage I could feel the benefits already!
oh and Hi Bonny :)

question, at one of your local svt certified ford dealerships, how does a 03 cobra for?

At Auto Fair Ford in Manchester NH has a red 03 SVT Cobra coupe right now for $34900.00 with polished wheels and 5 miles on it.

You sure are! But, the convertibles are going for $39750 or something like that MSRP... so they're putting about a $5000 markup at the dealership. That's not that uncommon.. But if I was buying one, i'd search the globe for one used. Like a "Wife got pregnant with triplets, selling the cobra to pay for new Minivan!!":rotf: :rotf: I'll find that one day, i'm telling ya.

this is quoted from the ad.

2003 mustang cobra coupe
for sale in austin texas. Health problems force me to sell my 2003 cobra with only 310 miles, purchased july 30th. white with gray leather. completely stock and babied by this 60 year old with health problems. price $34,500. Serious buyers only, no joy rides and no financing available. contact Tyler Crowder at tylerctx@yahoo.com phone: (512) 868-6554.

the price is probably negotiable if he truely has to sell! at any rate, a call or e-mail could tell you for sure.

hopefully there is some type warranty on it. also if its sold to an out of state buyer, the nearest ford dealership can honor that warranty.
