Its right there in the middle of nowhere!
If you don't get good directions from that, IM me or pm me.
Dad went down through Rockingham I believe...you might check that out on the map.
Is it a true track event? Or is it a lead follow event?
Later man

David,
If you are a newbie then a lead/follow is a good place to start till you get comfortable. Since you have a coupe then you don't have to worry about a lead/follow but the people with convertibles without rollbars will be limited.

The directions I have so far are.
220 South to 1 South. Then SC9 West that becomes US601. I hope with the map and directions to the general area I can find it.
I guess its a true track event. One of the directors at work came down to my office Monday and invited me along. Apparently a couple guys from his Viper club rented the track and had room for a couple more people. There isnt going to be any formal instruction but already 2 people have offered to let me ride along in the first session and they will ride with me in the next. Its been a scramble to get ready but tires and a new set of hawk blacks should be sitting by the door when I get home. It should be fun and when I am not on course there will be at least one speedvision viper out to watch turn laps. :bounce:

Tony-I was asking if the event Calvin_1976 was going to was True Track event or if it was a lead follow event. I believe I want to run in the beginner group or intermediate....I have been to the track once before. Dad used a stopwatch for some of my laps and I was running 2:04 (on kuhmos) minute laps...if that helps place me...its no american iron time....I think Shugg was running 1:48s or something like that (this was 2 years ago...don't quote me).
Calvin_1976-That is awesome...don't get hooked...are you going to use street tires or the kuhmos? I would use the street tires if you could, those kuhmos will last pretty well, but you could get a couple more autox's out of the kuhmos if you save them.
Either way, have fun man and let me know what you think about the track. Does this mean you aren't going to come down in March?

Blown96Snake: I should know about March for sure by the 2nd week of Feb. We are doing some major network upgrades at work in Feb and I might not be able to stray to far from home for awhile. I bought another set of my favorite street tires Sumitomos (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+Z&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=445WR7HTRZ), the Kumhos are strictly to make a hard run for NCAC 1st place finish. :bounce:

Let me know where you are coming from in NC and I'll help you out. I live 20 minutes from CMP, and 3 minutes from the host hotel. I'll get you here in the shortest distance.
